the bolt pattern is the same, there is a slight difference in the angle of the metal but i have swapped side to side with no issue.
So: after a close inspection yesterday, I came to the conclusion that one shock absorber is leaking on the front left, and that the bumper stop on the same side is missing?!

Obtaining shock absorbers would pose no problem here in Suriname, but those bumper stops pose to be difficult.

I looked into my parts catalogue and see that they are the same for the whole line-up of 40 series. But that there is a difference in left and right? I always thought that they would be the same hight. What is the difference and where does what go, I am looking for specs as I will need to fabricate something here.

What are your thoughts?

p.s. I upgraded the cafepress shop a bit and will be adding a few more things soon. Tell my your fix and I can work on that too!

Great I just put in my order for a shirt.

I got a couple questions :

1. Are you ever going to dive up to the united states?

2. Could you Design a shirt that has the land curising logo on the front left and maybe a map of the world with where you guys have been on the back?

I really envy you guys on your journey.

Great travels be safe and keep posting

1) yes we hope to roll into your country one day and meet all of you out there. Though we would have to find a solution for the time period we would be allowed to stay ( visa wise I mean).

2) Sure, I would be happy to do that.

Adventurous greetings, Coen.

Greetings Coen,

If I remember correctly you should be able to temporarily import your truck with minimum hassle for up to a year (As long as you promise to leave with it). I think you will get 90 days tourist visa at the border which I believe can easily be extended to a year.

It is, as it turns out, a very big country and there is a lot to do. Look forward to seeing pictures of your truck in Time Square, Grand Canyon, Moab and the Las Vegas strip to say the least.

I suspect with your following you could probably spend a year in the US without having to pay for a meal, you would be a mini celebrity! We look forward to ruining your european physique with BBQ and Soul Food

-zach

You could also do a north south zig zag across the 49th parallel and renew your visa when you re-enter. There are likely time constraints .. ie. three months out of country (in Canada) and then back in - I wouldn't know the exact details

Well, lets not try and solve the problem now, it might take us a few years to get to your border, and by then rules might have changed anyway.

hell, if you make here you got a nice place to stay and some beautiful country to see...
keep posting, i love the pics.

(wife still enjoying the adventure?)

Great! Let me know if she likes the calendar. And please tell me about the quality of it, this will build my confidence in CafePress stronger and I need to know if I should proceed building more calendars with them?

Adventurous greetings,
Coen

Ola Coen! almost forgot to get back to you about the calendar! wow, nice piece of work and amazing photography! i didn't expect it to be so large! some feedback, i didn't realize that it was mostly dessert shots so i was hoping to see the different areas of chile, but no worries, they were all awesome pics! i'm commenting on through the eyes of a cruiser lover so i don't mind seeing the awesome beast in each shot. :). but it's obvious that your target is for the cruiser travelling type! the chilean folks loved the pics too and we all just wished we were actually there! i don't think either inlaw's been in any of those areas. anyway, just my thoughts. i hope you do more! one of my faves is the shot with Karin cuttin up the pineapple on the fender with the kitchen spread out! but man, with all the shots you've posted just on this thread, i think you have more than enough material to make a dozen calendars! :D
as usual, keep up the great posts and pics! hope 2012 brings you more great adventures and less breakdowns.
cheers.

Thanks for the feedback on the calendar! Great, I have tons of ideas for more calendars, but only so many hours fit in one day. And I am sitting here with a new website design in Drupal, the car that wans my attention and so many interesting things to do and see in the surrounding area's that it is very difficult to time-manage.... I am not good at this at all... So please all bear with me and the future will be bright for sure!
