On the road in Chile calendar finished.

Newsflash:

Okay! I have been working hard on this on and I have completed yet another calendar! On the road in Chile. Which depicts different landscapes around Chile featuring our trusted Land Cruiser. Tell me what you think!

My flower calender is almost finished, but I don't know if you would be intrested in that? Now we have 5 calendars sitting in our CafePress shop. Please visit it and let me know what kind of calendar you like most. Knowing you all like what you see in this thread, you could tell me at least what you like to see in the next calendars?

Adventurous greetings,
Coen

you are truly capturing the heart of Latin American culture

I teach Latin American history in a private school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and I have shared you pics and travels with my classes several times. I can honestly say there were some oohhhhs and aaahhhs! - kids love to see real life images not the posed phony textbook shots.

Thank you for sharing and opening up your adventure to all.

Driving Lights and Hi-Lift

Hello MailKing, An amazing thread. I will be following in a small part of your footsteps starting early 2012. Will be taking my 1980 BJ40 from Ushuaia, Argentina to Cartagena, Colombia.

I had a could of questions for you.

1. With your driving lights mounted on your roof-rack , do you get a lot of glare or reflection off your hood at night?

2. With your Hi-Lift mounted where it is, have you had any problems with theft or pieces going missing as you have traveled through South America?

Thanks for the insight and great thread!

Thanks for the cudos guys! As long as you keep commenting, I keep posting!

As for the questions:

1- their is some glare. If you want you could paint your hood mat black, or put a black mat adhesive on there. For us: we drive so little at night and when we do, we don't use these big lights, they are more for in the woods or on the beach at night, but as I said before we actually don't drive at night.

2- No! Nothing missing. There are some Allen bolts now and then in places, that should slow thieves down, if at all they have the tools. you could drill a hole in the bolt and have a small lock, but that can be cut as well. We generally have the good faith in mankind and if they really do care to steal something, they probably need it more than we do?! We do leave the car always in populated areas and generally we sleep in it.

Good luck and let us know about your adventures!

Adventurous greetings,
Coen
