If it worked before and doesn’t work now, there’s an issue in the mechanical pump. An electric inline pump will fix it but it’s a band-aid.

Something isn’t right in the mechanical. Maybe take it apart and take pics? Why did it need rebuilt to begin with if it ran fine?

I was having a slight stall issue when coming to a stop and was told here that could be the pump. Since I had no baseline of the pump I figured a rebuild would work. Should have been easy, until it didn’t work…haha.

It’s pretty basic which is why I don’t get why it isn’t working. No gas weeping or leak which should indicate the main diaphragm is seated properly. Top diaphragm is seated. Top plate is oriented with the valve chambers. Diaphragm rod is locked into place by turning it. Mounted to the engine and the lever goes in the hole…spring is on the lever. I followed the video.

at this point I would take the pump off and manually actuate the lever with the intake in some water (or gas if your brave). You should be able to actuate and feel suction on your finger (dry) too.
I’ve been playing in gasoline all week….not afraid!! I’ll wait until the new diaphragm comes in. I’m going to video the procedure to make sure I’m not being dense when it comes to the rebuild.
 
An informative well edited vid with step by step procedures to obtain a proper resolution of a successful rebuild would be welcome.
I don’t know about well-edited, haha…but I can definitely capture the process. Their is a video out there already showing ‘what’ to do, but not a full step by step in the typical fashion.
 
Following up and closing out! So the issue was that the diaphragm must not have been all the way sealed. I think what was happening was that the arm with the ‘t’ that goes down to the lower half of the housing wasn’t going to the bottom side of the lever. So while the ‘t’ was through the top hole, it wasn’t all the way through. Once I pushed the ‘t’ Al the way through to the underside of the lever and pushed the lever it was a little more difficult to push the lever…then when I put the top of the housing on and pushed the lever I could hear the suction! Just put it back on and seems to be running like normal again. I appreciate all of the help.

For future reference….this is about how low it should be to ensure it is locked in properly. If it is only locked in the top keyhole it will be about an inch higher.
