So I got my updated t stat housing from Dustin. Pretty much the same idea as @Jvoight but with three bolts and no more twist lock. Has 3 possible positions.

That looks like a much better design. I calling him tomorrow.

If i am not mistaken spring down toward the block
Yes its spring down. You can see where the housing is machined to allow the spring to be there.

Well hopefully I didn't screw to much up tonight by being a moron last night.:mad:

I guess I didn't get the radiator completely full last night and over heated it on the way home today pulling a trailer and A/C on.
It ran pegged out for a bit while I got it home and got it cooled down before shutting it off. I ran it mid gauge about 10 min before shutting off so we will see if there is any perm damage later.

Sure your fine, it's a Cummins

Yeah when my AC pulley seized it was overheating, right below red, for awhile. I'm sure your fine. After I modified the temp gauge I could really monitor the cooling system better. I highly suggest doing it since we are all mechanical now. I can tell exactly when my thermostat opens and when the electric fans will kick on now.

Well it's been a while since ya heard from me. So I figured I should update everyone.

I have made my own roof rack. It's pretty good except I made it to small and for some reason and the paint guy at NAPA steered me completely wrong on the steps required to get a good bedliner adhesion. I can peel it off easier than tape. So I will have to re-do that..... Or just sell it and build a new one the size I want!

I also built my own sliders that turned out pretty good.

And I built a front bumper. The hoop for the light bar will be redone possibly like the slee short bus style but not totally sure yet. I was just trying to get it done before I went on vacation.

Which brings me to the next point.

Just took it on a fam vacation to seaside Oregon. There was 4 adults and 2 toddlers in there. I pulled a little trailer with all our stuff in it and I had my spare, tools, and spare parts up on the rack. I discovered the day we left that the mechanical supply pump was leaking when I was idling so who knows how much diesel I was pissing away while under load. So in combination of trailer , crap on the roof, and leaky fuel pump I got about 15mpg. Not great but eh.

The trip was around 1400 miles and she did great! With this trip I am over 10,000 miles on this conversion and I gotta say I don't regret it one bit!
