Could he just be saying that to make the failure rate sound lower?

It really didn't sound like it to me... And I was talking to him face to face...
Like I said before that quick mount ac bracket and and t stat housing is not just for our 80 series conversion. It is for any conversion using a Cummins. That means for those silly fords they put them in too.

Isn't that mount 80 specific because the alternator would hit the frame? No one with a 60 series uses that mount.

I have a stock dodge accessory set up it all fits fine. About 3/4" of frame clearance.

The main thing as mentioned is it doesn't work for all swaps and is expensive and hard to find. I lucked out and found a blown engine in western Kansas that I happen to be driving near for work. Other wise I would have probably bought Dustin's. He sells them an eBay for any swap to be universal and easy to set up. It's one of the pieces I'm really impressed with on his kits.

Can you post a photo of it. Especially of the thermostat housing in relation to the bracket?

Just left town for a long weekend. These are the best photos I have on my phone. The first you can see the bolts sticking out where the mounting plate would bolt on the thermostat housing is black and points toward the driver side.

I can get better pics next week

This is the 1998 12v dodge I know they have some variation. I believe this one to be the same 98-02 maybe older would need to verify.

This is sad. I just called and left a message for Dustin saying where is my part and now because he didn't get it to me I have to get a rental car. I just got an email for a next day delivery shipment.... @Jvoight you got it lucky that you can just go grab stuff!

Man that sucks... I feel for u guys, it seems to be an unfair advantage i coincidently have... 1.5hrs away is a real good thing dealing with him...

Does anyone know if the rear heater hard lines (upper section) can be left? I will be replacing them with new ones (s.steel) I made as long as they will actually fit... Seems like they will.
Here are the lower ones remade @ home, garage style... Pretty close, meh...

Nice lines
I just used Napa gold stripe hose the whole way and used a couple clamps I don't see why they wouldn't fit though

Mine were left even though I removed rear heat. I finally cut them out about 2 months ago with a sawsall. It was easy with a 1" body lift but may be tight to snake the pipes through with engine and trans in there.

I'm moving my brother up from AZ to Portland. Hoping I'll be able to make it by his shop to buy my kit..

Cnorm u up and running again? At least got your part I hope?

If u do how do the machining marks look on the angled camlock area?

When I was getting the last of my parts I shared my theory with Dustin... Wondering if he just left it sharp edged...

I'm assuming your trying to see if this housing could be used in conjunction with the rest of the plate. Maybe but it would be tight. I think the alternator mount that is cast I to it is about 1/4" into the mounting plain of the accessory bracket lower on the block

Thanks for the photos. Need to do a bit more research and try to get a Dodge housing in hand.

Try hotwod he has a complete '94 on a pallet
I may want to check out your work if I get a chance. I'll be up in Ottawa for two weeks in July to work a festival.

I would almost want to get the cracked one welded and keep as a spare. I wonder what he would charge just for that piece? I wouldn't mind having a spare. Wish I would have kept mine. Looking at it earlier it seems you could run a brace from the bracket to the head on the front but nothing on the rear side.
Even if he sold 100 housings and 2 failed it may seem like a small percentage but if you add up the miles for all of them it probably isn't good. I was around 7-8K when mine failed.
