Be careful with this little sleep. In 10 years you will be physically unable to function without a minimum of 8 hours every single day. Lack of sleep takes a toll according to Rudy.

:D

j/k Rudy.

I usually do get atleast 8 hours. It just means I dont usually get out of bed till after noon. This schedule will change by the beginning of the year.

I am giong to try to get a tire. Ive been calling around trying to find a used 33x15 somewhere, but everyones telling me that will be hard to find. I may just spring for a new MT tomorrow to match my set. Im running 33x12.5x15, and was planning on just mounting a 33x10.5x15 on my best stock wheel. I'll have to bust the tire and rattlecan it before I get the new one on.

I'll have a 33x12.5-15 mounted on the 4Runner. Hope I don't need it if you do.

Thank you much for the offers for help! You are a awesome group of people. I'll fit in just fine :D.

I actually just bought a BFG MT to match my current tires. Gotta clean up and paint my old rim today, and will have it mounted tomorrow. Hopefully my 12v compressor shows up this week so I can air down and up.

Nice to have but don't let that stop you from showing up on Saturday. We always get everyone aired up one way or the other.

I am out, this work thing is getting in the way of fun time!

Sigh. I don't think I have ever missed a tree run. I guess there is always a first. Not happy about it, but that's life. Enjoy gents.

You were just afraid of the forecasted weather....

Or, you didn't have good gaskers for your hardtop....

;)

Funny Onur. A snow run with snow coming down ... I wouldn't miss it. But work calls.

And what is up with Toyota disco'ing all my parts. Dang them.

Call in sick.

I'm going to put the rack on the 80 and will be bringing back 1 tree. I can get two up there pretty easily so let me know if you want me to grab one for you.

Actually I'm looking for a couple of spares in that size but 16" - that would be 285/75-16. I need one for my '99 4Runner, and my son just bought an '03 Tacoma that's going to have the OME lift and 33's on it in a couple of weeks, so we both need one.

Steve,
Give Discount Tire a call, they usually have some used tires for sale that might work for you.
I got a pretty nice BFG to match the ones I had on my cruiser.

Another route suggestion is to meet at Walatowa and go up 376 through the tunnels. We could get into some fir on roads off 376, but not real high. Could be good either if there is no snow at all (so it doesn't matter where we go) or if there is plenty of snow down low (not likely). We can get higher going somewhere else off 126 than off 376, though, so either way works for me. I'll try to look at some routes tomorrow.

BTW, Steve, there is a used set of 4.30 gears on CL. Might pick up the fronts real cheap for your runner.

Some American Toyota techs went into the jemez this past weekend and they said the forest roads off of 126 were seriously beaten up. Very little options for trees. Frozen in the morning when they went up and muddy mess coming down in the afternoon.

I was checking out some routes that way in google maps. Looks really nice that direction. Im up for that. I have never been off the main roads in Jemez so any route will be new to me.

I must have missed them, I can't find them now.

so there is a very good chance my inlaws want to come get a tree with us too. they would be in their 4wd frontier which is cool unless the there is actually significant snow and we expect it to limit us. would anyone have a couple seats for them? i could put their tree on my 80 with mine i would guess, so i might only be asking about 2 seats. suspect they would follow us to n portal then jump in if weather was poor. anyone left vehicles at the station during the day before? is there a better place? i'm sure they would rather be in their vehicle to not impose on anyone, but if it looks crappy i'd rather not be digging them out too

Since I'm not going to make it I will have chains available for loan. Two sets actually:

33x12.50-15
35x12.50-15

Let me know PM.

That is assuming we actually get some snow.

I have left my tow rig and trailer at Walatowa before.
I'm thinking, if the roads are easy, it may be easier to just drive my Ford (Gasp!). I can fit a number of trees in the bed for people, and the dog will have a seat. that's the down side to having a trailer queen. it is a bit more of a pain to load up for runs.

Don't feel too bad Shawn. My brother-in-law has a Jeep trailer queen and chooses his PSD Ford for most mild to moderate camping and wheeling too. It has enough room for the dogs and gear and is comfortable getting to the trails if he doesn't expect to need the crawler.

I don't feel bad at all.:D the places that 40 has gone is worth it.:grinpimp:

I realize you will never be ready to move up to the most capable off-road vehicle available to the general public ...

-Mike-

Yep, just picture yourself with it Shawn--4 doors, coil springs, marginal 6 cylinder, room for the dog and gear. It gets even better--opt for the diff locks, 4 to 1 case, electronic swaybar disconnect, and full convertible. I want one too. Only problem is they are still $26k used and I couldn't hang out with you clowns anymore. :D
