I've got my manifolds back and back on my motor and NO leaks! J & D Machine shop in Waynesboro did the work and he was able to spot face the flanges where the bolt heads flush up to. FYI,...I duct taped my horns in place so they wouldn't fall off or move too much. Carlton liked that I didn't tack them with jb weld. He said he likes to slightly turn them downward while on the sander. So they have to move a little.

I've got an impact wrench, breaker bar, prybars, map gas, plenty of tools, floor jack, jack stands etc(no shop) but a level driveway. I did my OME 2 years ago. Let me know if you want to bring it by.
This did get done (new OME suspension kit) Last October, after my surgery. We did it in two days. Wrung the 10mm machine screw that holds the cam shaped spring pin plate on the outside. It probably took a couple of hours drilling it out. One side didn't want to line up and the center pin didn't want to fall down into the U-bolt plate. We finally used a ratchet strap to pull it in line and it fell right in. @Igotmearedone, how's it holding up?

It’s awesome! I’m very happy with it. Thanks again for the help! And I just got 33” all-terrains. Hopefully can go for a trail run this spring/summer

My wife was driving my truck while I was out of town, she stopped driving it because she said it was louder than normal. This is exactly what I found. I’ve never had an O2 sensor remove itself before.

I want to get the underside of my truck coated in some type of rust preventative. Looking at a lot of different options- por15, Waxoyl, Fluid Film, Woolwax, etc. Anyone have any thoughts or preferences? Are there any shops that do it locally or should I just suck it up and do it myself. Thanks for any input.

Iron Pig does undercoating services in Fredericksburg.

Do you have an air compressor? I have a 5 hp compressor and I mix up a redneck version of waxoyl and spray it on myself. It wears off pretty quickly (about 1 year) and I bet major cleaning would have to be done to get real undercoating to stick in the future.

I’ll be spraying it in my driveway so I’m not really too keen on the idea of spraying a bunch of used motor oil and diesel out there. I’ve turned into a total wuss in my old age, lol. I used to use a Fluid Film product to protect the barge, tow wires on the tugs I worked on, seemed to hold up pretty well. I’ll probably spray that if a shop is too expensive. The more I read about por15, it just sounds like a total pain in the ass if the metal isn’t brand new.

POR-15 works best on rusted metal. Ideally, you get the metal very clean, use their acid etch, then let flash-rust appear. It will stick to very rusted steel and if you can get a good coating, it will stop the rust.

My custom waxoyl is paint thinner and wax rings meant for setting a toilet. I use a camp stove to boil water and use the hot water to heat the mix.

Small youtube channel but good content

Hi captainva,

Just wanted to share what I cam across during my research which funny enough the same guy provided a year ago vs the previous video 3 years ago.

Hope this helps. Also, just because I'm OCD I am taking my ride to Shenandoah corrosion for under carriage tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I'd be willing to buy the product if someone can provide the wire wheel and garage :)

I decided to try the por15, the prep work is a bitch but it’s starting to look good. I was shocked how good the sheet metal looks after I degreased and power washed it. The only really bad rust on the body is the drivers side, rear quarter panel. The two body shops in Charlottesville I went to didn’t want anything to do with rust repair, so I just hammered a piece of sheet metal and pop-riveted in as a temp/permanent fix so I can rehang the mudflat. If anybody knows a good sheet metal person/shop, I’d be interested.

B&W
Cut out rust and installed repair panels I provided.
