Just leave it, if I recall. I think that's the vent for the canister, which is on the bottom of the OEM. I can check mine when I get home...Simply leave larger in/output plugged off Searched but found no absolute answer and if I do leave it plugged does it need to be airtight View attachment 1974135View attachment 1974136

having my truck vent from gas cap for 15minutes st8 when in mtns cannot be good, and if theres a way to rebuild old one let me know I have several oem CCWhat is the disadvantage to having a bad charcoal canister?
My tank vents upon opening for fill ups. I’m guessing my CC could be bad, but does it harm anything?

I just finished it the hose on bottom goes nowhere now correct @OffRoadScott @LandCruiserPhil also I can bring an OEM can or two to AZThat was the problem I was having with mine. I replaced it with the VC120 from Autozone. If anyone goes this route the plastic nipple for the tank is larger then the factory hose, just a heads up.

ok to clarify I hooked up tank and purge only correct or re hook bottom line that appears to go nowhere cept the frame
thanks thats what I did as I cut the bottom line to remove old can anyway thanks Scoot. reciate the helpIf your replacement canister does have the hook up might as well connect it. But the "Tank" and "Purge" are the only ones that really matter like the one on the bottom vents to atmosphere.
I did the VC120 Duralast canister. It is fat, you basically remove the bottom bracket from your truck, spread the top bracket and zip tie it tight after. The gas line will be tight, the tube on the VC120 is bigger than on the OEM, but lube it with some spit and it'll go on. $55 shipped to your house. Duralast Vapor Canister Over a week of having it and zero issues, no more extended gas release from the gas cap.
