Charcoal canister drain

This hard line comes off the bottom of the charcoal canister. Does it just penetrate into the floor channel that seems to be enclosed?

I should have posted, mine is a 77 March build.

I think it is an air inlet not a drain. It also went to the same location on my 79.

On my 75 40 the channel is open at the tranny hump.
