I love picking up gear on Amazon when the seller is "Amazon Warehouse" (the branch of Amazon that sells returned or dropped stuff, labeled as "used"). 100% of the times that I've purchased from Amazon Warehouse, it's been a new-in-box item, but the outer box is damaged. Amazon Warehouse has a bunch of these Weboost Drive Reaches at a great discount: $382 (instead of the regular $500).

What's interesting is that I just went to check out, and for some reason there's an additional 20% off "Amazon Warehouse Discount"... so I was able to get it for $305. All combined, that's basically 40% off, and I'm betting it will be new-in-box but with outer box damaged. Super excited at this discount, even though I have never before heard of the "Amazon Warehouse Discount" on top of the already low Warehouse price.

Passing this along in case anyone else is looking for one and can pick up this awesome discount, too.

Good luck. I'm a fan of the warehouse purchases for stuff which doesn't have a ton of miscellaneous hardware/parts involved. My son's basketball backboard mounting kit was a deal, but was missing two of ~20 poles and 3 of ~40 nuts/bolts. (Amazon sent me a second one when I complained and I sent them back all of my unused parts, so it worked out but it took a couple weeks...)

Yes, that's true, there is a risk. I usually feel pretty comfortable with Amazon Warehouse anyway, though, because they do a good job mitigating the risk: all of their Warehouse stuff comes with the same standard Amazon return policies as the non-Warehouse stuff. Out of about 15 - 20 tech-related things I've purchased in the past from Warehouse, only one was broken (and that one was still new-in-box, just probably got dropped too hard or something, and I went through the same typical Amazon return process). Not to mention saving hundreds or thousands of dollars cumulatively.

@TeCKis300 thanks for this thread. I put one of these in my 200 and it is working out great.

Got a second set of antennas (inside, outside) and power supply that's permanently installed in the travel trailer. Now I can easily move the booster between the car or travel trailer in a couple minutes.

Yagi directional antenna is mounted on a mast that can be raised and pointed directionally. 13' in the air with a focused transmission beam. Will have to test once I'm in the boonies, but I think this should give me better than 40 db gain than just using a plain cell phone in the tin can faraday cage that is an Airstream.

Not sure if I have mentioned it here but I have bought the We Boost and am running it daily in my Crosstrek but that is about to change. Just awaiting the arrival of my Wits End 1/4 panel mount and I will be moving it to the Land Cruiser full time. Recently I upgraded the small 4" antenna to the OTR antenna. I will be using the Yoda Teq mounts for the rear hatch to mount the antenna.

I will be moving it to the passenger side and using the driver's side mount for CB or reverse light.

But I have honestly enjoyed and am impressed with the We Boost. On the first trip with it, the wife commented on how clear the call was in some of the less ideal locations along the 8 headed to San Diego.

Glad to have the Yagi antenna here while visiting Lake Powell. At the RV park in Wahweap, I can focus in on cell towers. Seeing a pretty substantial 36 db gain on band 66 which is working nicely. Network Cell Info light also shows me a map which conveniently helps me point the Yagi.

So I just ordered the Drive Reach OTR Cell Phone Signal Booster | weBoost - https://www.weboost.com/products/drive-reach-otr one. So from what I have read here. Don't mount it near the glass. Try to get it high. (the higher the better)? And keep the inside part as close to where your phone will live? Anything else?

Try to keep the power and inside antenna cables apart from one another. It only happened once but I did have issues with We Boost not going full green. Once I moved the antenna and the power cable I was good.

You do know that you have a problem, don’t you? Lol. You might be the biggest ”gear whore” that I’ve seen. I envy your drive though but I could never take my vehicle apart as many times as you have. Thanks for doing the research and letting us know about these things. I own a We boost now because of your reports.

Requisite antenna on the camper. Pretty epic vistas out here.

Yup. Ideally mount external antenna at rear of vehicle and avoid line of sight through the moonroof to the interior antenna. For the inside antenna, proximity between the phone and candy bar antenna is highly important and where much of the potential performance can be lost. Ideally within inches to a feet apart. It's partially designed this way to minimize feedback to the external antenna. If you use an app like Network Cell Info light, or the built in db reporting on the phone's sim, you'll can see how much the signal drops off with distance.

I resemble that. It's totally a sickness that I can't leave things well enough alone. With this covid business this past year, I've probably doubled down on projects. Now being vaccinated, I'm starting to venture out to enjoy the last round of mods.

What if I have no good places on the rear. But have one on the front of the bumper out far.

Well, color me impressed. Not going to lie I was a bit skeptical. But it does work. Definitely recommend!

I was seeing similar numbers with the 4" antenna. I can't wait to see what I get with the OTR antenna. Just might put the We Boost back into the Subaru until it is ready for its new home in the LC. Just waiting on the 1/4 panel mount from @NLXTACY over at Absolute Wits End.

what are the differences between the weboost hexagon OTR and round OTR antennas?
I got the updated model. The Drive Reach OTR, smooth antenna one. That’s the one that replaced the drive 4G-X OTR
