Haha! Not sure why I had Norway in my head. In any case Norway or Netherlands would be nice, although I've been to the Netherlands already.
I decided to run the numbers by my local Toyota dealer and surprisingly both came up as valid and current part numbers, however there are none in North America. He says he can get them from Japan in 8 to 10 days though so I went ahead and ordered them. We'll see what happens.

Try Sewell Parts Online ... a Lexus dealer in Texas. They have discounts for online purchases and even more discounts for ClubLexus forum members. When I bought these filters 6 months ago there were about $12-18 bucks each, but I used the ClubLexus discount.
Or buy from Sewell with the ClubLexus member price ...

Well the parts showed up today and they were the right ones. Strange that none of the parts sources in the USA I tried seemed to be able to get them but my Canadian dealer had no issue whatsoever. Anyway I'll hopefully get around to installing these in the next few days and report back on my results.
Ok well it's done. However, after looking at how big a PITA removing and replacing the cover was going to be I decided I might as well try to just cut the access hole in since the clips for the door are there. Also I remember the OP having issues sealing the cover afterwards as well so if I don't have to remove it even better. I figured if it went badly I could still re and re the cover.
Having the replacement cover was handy for making a template for the hole though so I'm still glad I got it. I made a template from 1/8" aluminum sheet. I just cut it the exact same size as the hole. I drilled two holes in the centre of it and then lined it up on my cover and screwed it in place. Then I just used a very shap exacto knife and cut around the template.
Took awhile but it turned out clean. If you aren't too fussy about the cut or are really good freehand you could definitely just order the door and just cut the hole in.

Thanks for a great thread! I ordered my parts to do a retrofit on a 05 LC, waiting for them to get shipped. My LC didn't have a cut out and I will try for the full swap + silicone?
With the rear AC, does it suck from the same source as the front? It seems like a completely separate/redundant system. I suppose I could sort through the diagrams but thought maybe someone would know.

As far as I can tell the rear AC intake is on the floor in the back of the truck near the tail gate. Looks like recirculate only for that system.

I was told it is a completely separate system, and it does not "suck" from the same source as the front. I asked where the back A/C intake was and was told it recycles cabin air. Could be BS, I don't know. But it does seem illogical to have ducts running from front to back for air intake.
EDIT: Rob beat me to it by about 3 seconds.....
Gotcha. That makes sense. Clean air comes in from the front and cycles out through the rear vents by the wing windows. Rear air just conditions what's already there and blows it back down mid-cabin.
