For reals?

It's not a must, but I read enough on here that convinced me to go with it. Plus talking with Christo and Robbie

There are some threads on here so you can decide yourself

I went ahead and installed both lockers. I like having both ATRAC and lockers. More tools (Tim the tool man ah ah arrrg) provides greater equipment capabilities. Thought the real capability comes from the 8 ball behind the wheel.

How about a '99 with 183k on the clock for $9800. Timing belt done at 110k. Recent new tires, brakes and front shocks. I would rate it in Good shape. Never been wheeled, but does have the rear locker.

Yes, the front diff on the 98-99s is a 2 pinion. Toyota switched to a stronger 4 pinion design in 2000+.

If i found a good low mileage 98-99 the first thing i would do is install an ARB. (which is stronger than either Toyota). While a 2003 would be better for the 5spd, they are generally a few thousand more than 2002s from what i have seen in my searching. And you also have to deal with the AC controls being integrated into the stereo. So no upgrading the stereo and if the headunit/screen fails, its not cheap to fix/replace.

Its due for a tb again, so 1200-2000 depending if you have toyota do it or an indy. There are alot of things you have left out to help answer this. First, does the seller have the history of the truck via receipts. This is an important piece of the puzzle. Figure this out first. Basically the value of the truck should be based on the maint unless you have lots o money and enjoy spending it. So know what has been done or figure what you need to replace.

2006 Land Cruiser

Looking at purchasing a 2006 LC, with 129,000 miles. The dealership is asking ~$27k for it, which seems high given the mileage. It is a very clean one owner truck. Any issues with the 2006 model and what would be a reasonable price for the vehicle?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Data Point:
Picked up an 01' , 113K, new water pump at 99K, new Micheline LTX at 99K. Paint immaculate, carpet good, leather great. GPS, bad speakers, never towed, no rust/mud, crappy battery.
California history on carfax, all dealer service.

$17,994

P.K.

So I'm looking at a couple different rigs...
Question:

Does this look legit?

Is this consistent with what a Mr. T Dealer would use?
Is it a sticker that already exists in the engine compartment?

I read it as saying:

03/30/04 (March 30th. 2004)
with 87737 miles on the clock at the time of the TB

Would you trust only this, with no other records as proof that the TB was done? (I'm prone to "not")

I imagine it may show up on a vin check through Toyota...

It didn't display any dealer activity prior to 115K....looks like second owner was diligent though.

Someone else might help on this, id say it is good, it looks time weathered. I talked to the dealer before i bought and they said you can usually tell by the color of the gasket sealer the dealer uses? Saying the factory color is extremely rare , So he was saying they cant get it so the color is different than stock, the help i need is i cant remember the color stock or aftermarket lol.

Looks like what I have seen before for Toyota timing belt changes.

Do any of you guys know if this sticker was present from the factory when new? ...awaiting the time when it would be filled out. Or if the sticker is placed at the time of the job being completed. I imagine that the dealers are instructed to put it in a specific location...if the case is the latter.

I think it is applied when they do the service. I have usually seen it on the radiator/fan shroud area.

This one looks to be attached to airbox...

I dont think there is a set space. Could have been a shop instead of a dealer as well. Did you use that link posted earlier and enter the VIN?

They probably just make sure it is visible, near the front of the engine compartment.

Yeah, from 2006 to 2009 it was brought to the dealer religiously (2nd Owner I think) but it has no records prior to 115K mileage.

99 LC vs 99 LX

Hey guys,

I am searching on here for info but can't seem to find.

We are getting a second 100..

To broaden our search, we are considering LXs as well. Do the 99s have the rear diff lock, like the 99 LCs? Is it located down by the shifter?

Any real issue with lifting since it will have the AHC?

If you can point me to a thread or two, to save your time, thanks a bunch.

Sorry for the obvious redundant questions.
