What? A week has gone by and I don't see pics of black wheels. Been busy or just slacking?

Wheels are done. Just been working until after dark everyday this week and havent had a photo op yet. Ill get one tomorrow. Truck looks SO much better IMO.

Yeah I hear ya. It's getting that time of year where going to work in the dark and getting home in the dark is the norm (atleast east coast).

I bet it does look better. Not a fan of bling'n wheels, esp ones that have been abused. Your rig has come a long way from page 1.

Ive been thinking since this is my build thread I guess I should include the work that has been done on the truck other than the lift, tires, destruction and other fun stuff. Here is my list of what has been done in the last 3 months:

1) Clean, pressure check, surface, standard valve job on cylinder head.
2) Replaced cylinder head gasket set.

ALSO REPLACED:

3) Radiator.
4) Radiator Cap.
5) Radiator Collar.
6) Radiator Insulator.
7) All Radiator and vent hoses.

AS WELL AS:

8) Idle control valve and Idle valve gasket.
9) Distributor rotor.
10) Distributor cap and o-ring.
11) Ignition wire set.
12) Spark plugs.
13) PHH Hose and PHH clamp (Didnt know about the mod until after this was done. Ill keep an eye on this one, should last a long while. Next time Ill do the PHH mod.)
14) Both O2 Sensors.
15) Oil filter.
16) Battery and battery hold-down.

Not-Fun soon to-do list:
Birf's
Brake pads and rotors.

Truck is close to baselined now, chipping away day by day.

That thing brings the sickness! The center caps arrived as promised. THX

Quick question on the grille black out.

Did you completely sand it down bare or did you just scuff it up with a scotch brite pad?

Thinking of doing mine.

Thanks!

looks good ...let me know when you get tired of that that F.O.R lift and the 37s ill take em ;)

again its coming together quite well. making me jealous i dont have more cash flow to pour towards my lx right now.

Nope. Ditched the caps. One less thing to fall off.

Just scuffed up the trim and hit it with a good base of primer first.

By being patient, and looking for deals I have managed to keep the mods relatively inexpensive. So far I am in for less than $1500.

$1500 for 37's, a FOR lift and rims????

FOR Springs: -$600

Adapters: -$40

Swap meet Procomp shocks: -$80 bucks for 4, then sold 2 for +$80. Net: 2 free shocks. Made extensions for the OEM rears temporarily. $0

MAF drop brackets I traded my bumpers for. $0

Sold front swaybar: + $20

Home made extensions for rear sway bar. -$4

MAF Spring packers. -$50

37's and rims I bought from a 20 year old Navy kid that just got back from deployment and had $11,000 burning a hole in his pocket. paid -$400 for the whole package. Mounted, lugs, and balanced: -$90 ... net -$490

Sold stock centercaps: $12

Thats $1176 out of pocket at this point. And I am about to sell my old tires and rims here in about 20 minutes to make some more of the money back. Patience is the key.

With the Maf drop brackets and FOR springs have you noticed any driveline vibrations? Looks sweet, I can't wait to get an FOR setup and big tires :)

Im getting some vibrations around 70mph. But I thinks its something with my alignment. I need to get the panhard extension in and get everything checked to see where I am at with castor, toe in, etc..
