Are you planning on adding bumpers to the front or rear?

Those 37s look great BTW.

Thanks!

Yes, Ill be adding some sort of bumpers eventually. They will most likely be as minimal as possible since i am attempting to keep the rig as light as possible.

tube be best way go probably then, like the way this build has gone, clean and to the point

Way to go!:bounce::bounce: You've been busy today! Pics!

As she currently sits. You can see I am skying over those 37's. Hopefully I be dropping her down a couple inches this weekend:

Are you running any extended bump stops for the 37s? Have you had to do any serious chopping in order to not rub?

No on the extended bumpstops. Havent got it to rub anywhere yet, but i havent really twisted her up to much. I will probably have more rubbing when I drop the lift down, but I am not afraid to use the cut-off wheel. Ill sacrifice some c=sheet metal for a lower COG.

Have you done gears yet? I didn't see that anywhere... If not, how are the 37s with factory gears? Looks great though...

when do you plan on chopping? I'd love to be there. This is a dream of mine for a future cruiser...

Still have the factory gears. Honestly, its really not that bad. I did feel like I lost a little bit of acceleration when I went from the 285's to the 37's, and I felt it quite a bit in braking. But highway cruising is much nicer. However, the more and more weight I remove, the better the truck feels. At this point it actually feels peppy again... well, as peppy as a tiny school bus can get. :D

You are just a bit late. The roof came off yesterday. Today, before i have to work tonight, Im going to try and weld in some sheet metal to clean up the roof line. I also have to make the final decision if I am going to bob it or not. At this point I am leaning toward yes. I also plan on removing the front spacers, cutting the rear springs to get a level ride height since its popped up 1.5" with all the weight removed. I am also going to swap out the ES9000 rears with ES3000's since its really light now, and the 9000's are too stiff for my taste. Then I thnk I am going to chop off the stock muffler that I dented badly last weekend, and just run a straight pipe for now until I figure t the exhaust. Then I need to fill all the flare holes, and install the $80 snorkle I bought off craigslist from some shady guy in LA. haha... as you can see its going to be a busy weekend. If you wanna swing by let me know and ill shoot you my address.

Well chopping of the top back doesnt help clearance on bottom which bobbing would! A lot more work and eats up bed space if important to you. I think i will chop back like you and make high clearance bumper and just deal with dragging rear end! Either way looks awesome!!! This thread made the decision I want 37s at least!

I also have the es9000's on the rear and they are too stiff as well. Post some pics when you can!

Chopped.

Constructing the new rear roof line. Got the idea from the "ultimate 80" build. I will eventually install a full cage. When I do I will cut out upside down "U's" in the plate, and run the cage through them.

Tacked into place. Headliner hanging down makes it look low. But it actually hangs down less than the stock rear window frame did. Going to finish it up with a little filler and sanding. Then prime it so it doesnt rust before i start with the paint. Inside edge will be carpeted, and have LED strips.

Totally freakin sweet!!

Love the chopped roof line - maybe my wifey will let me do that to her 80......oh wait a minute, I have the 40 for open top cruisin.

That looks impressive! Can't wait to see the next pic!!

What are your plans for back?? Exposed or sealing it in or what?

Way to go! Going to keep the 'ol tailgate on?

should chop the liftgate, unless its sellable, and weld the piece on. Then it would be level across the top(and you'd still say Land Cruiser:D)
