1992 FJ80 3FE
Recently replaced: Starter, Plugs, Plug Wires, Distributor Cap/Rotor,
Replaced maybe 30k miles ago: Fuel Filter, charcoal canister
Problem: Driving for a decent while (1.5+ hrs) in the Utah summer causes some odd starting problems with the heat. After turning the car off and restarting it, RPMs will skyrocket to 1000-1500, then immediately die. However, if I’m quick enough to put it in gear and give it some gas it continues as it normally would. Any thoughts on what this could be? I tried checking the forums for similar problems couldn’t find much.
