You have the castor plates that work well as a doubler. I’d finish welding those all the way around and maybe run a couple beads over the factory welds on the underside of the housing.Parts started showing up.
Be for I had the axle trouble I was hearing a new noise. when I got out to inspect I could see the axle was rotating in the bushing.
These bushing are only about 4 years old.
Lots of articulation eats these bushing up !

So a new set was ordered along with new hardware.

While I have the housing out I plan on fully welding the control mounts to the axle and adding some bracing.
I well also add the Land Tank diff hardware upgrade.

If anyone has pictures of what they did to beef up the control arm to axle mounts please post up.
