Weather was beautiful after the storm yesterday. Had to open the Quarantine Bar.

Just found this local for $150....you must have the golden touch on getting the best prices!!

BTW, I did buy one as they had just gotten their allocation of 3.

It is probably the ONLY perk to state run ABC. Price control. They have to put it on the shelves at retail. SC stores can charge whatever they want, but have a drastically better selection.

Added these to the collection of ECSB BP in March and then found this easy sipper which I enjoyed yesterday.

During these challenging times, no promises are expected to be held to........
Wait! What?
Can I say that to my wife?
Ah Hell. Never mind. Can’t go out anyway...

Carry on.

Sunday I was able to pick up a bottle of recently released Whistlepig 10 Year Single Barrel Rye. I will report back.
Our liquor stores aren't open on Sundays in NC. It would turn everybody into alcoholics and keep them out of church. Or is it that we would spend all of our donation money on booze? Meh. Either way, it's good that we have people looking out for us to help keep us better than everybody else. That's gotta be why I'm so scared for myself when I'm in VA on a Sunday.

There is no doubt you can't be trusted on Sundays let alone any day in Virginia.

You have hurt me deeply with that statement. All I can do to heal is disappear into a bottle of delicious bourbon...

I'll have to admit I was under the influence of some brown liquid upon posting that.....should have been a bit more specific to say that no promises involving alcohol........

I almost forgot... Gateway in Gainesville VA has an ABC store in the same shopping center as a Total Wine. And a Lowes. And a Target. And a good Mexican joint. And a Five Guys. And a Best Buy. Near the Cabela's. Damn right I can't be trusted...ask my wife about our debit card transactions on Sundays over the last 1.5 years!!! The worst part is that Jimbo's is on the way home from there. I think my mom figured it all out long ago - don't expect much from John on the weekend.

Four Roses Small Batch - one of the most dependable cheap bottles out there. Grabbed it to replace the bottle I'd just killed, as it's a staple on our home bar.

Ordered from Caskers, the first time I found a place, outside of bourbon trading groups (so under the table), that will ship to NC. Prices are decent on some things and seem to be a bit marked up on others, still nice to get it shipped and have a better selection than I've seen in most Durham ABCs.

Curious what your thoughts are on Caskers after you receive the bottle? I receive their weekly email and keep trying to buy from them, but many states will not allow them to ship alcohol to individuals. PA governor changed the law during April COVID liquor store closure, but used internal state company which resulted in even more complaints.
