Yes, the star wheel wears a slopy hole in the housing (for lack of better terms) and binds up. I cut the housing off and weld in a new piece to hold the wheel tight.

P.S....I was not the one who came up with this fix, can't remember, but I stole the idea.

There are two different types (years)?, also.

Oh yeah I studied the heck out of this post beforehand. Didn't feel like re-doing the housing so just bought one. It's good.

Might end up doing this on the DS front door in the future though

Alrighty! Where were we?
Life has a habit of changing priorities on you rather suddenly. Now that I'm through that whole mess it's back to playing with the Pig.

I've been chasing a brake issue for months now. The pedal was always a 2 pumper. Second pu.o would hold like a dream but frost would go straight to the floor. Adjusted shoes all the ways all the time. I bought a proper booster to replace the cheapo eBay one I took a gamble on. I bled and bench bled and bled and bled some more. Still two pumps. After replacing the booster and, on a whim, a brake line, the brakes work fine (minus the old warpy drums).

I'm fairly certain the issue was a misadjusted booster pushrod and not the cheapo booster now that everything is good and I've had time to think about it.

Bought a glove box door for too much $$$

And have been enjoying it for the last couple weeks.

How are you liking the transmission?
You should have asked about the brake issue! Would have been a happy to help..

The transmission is great. No issues at all.
I got pretty close to reaching out about the brakes. Probably would have if I was working on them constantly.

Been a bit.

Drives fine. Have an ignition cutout in 4th I'm trying to solve. Otherwise, it's an old 55. It's loud, slow, and obnoxious.

Valve adjustment, some cleanup, trying to get the tur signals to work: That's life with an old truck.
65mph is doable but sketchy. We'll stick with 55mph for now.
