32k miles on my OBD1 1994 truck and no issues with the Bosche universals using the spliced plug, which I think is a pretty good design...

For those people that have used the universal O2 from Bosch, can you please confirm that you have used part number 15728? Some of the sites I'm checking prices on say it does not fit a 94' Cruiser when some others say it does.

Thanks,
Chris

I've had the 15728's in my '93 LC for a month and have gone through two tanks of fuel.

So far no CEL has appeared. I need to use a couple more tanks of fuel to see if mileage has gone up any.

I also soldered the leads of the new sensors instead of using the supplied couplers and moved the sensors up to the exhaust manifold where the PAIR valve assembly use to be.

For $80 I'm happy with the results.

Any follow up?

The Bosh ones WILL through codes, and you'll end up buying OEM. Wait till you can purchase OEM.

X2-Been there/ done that, and I am not even an OEM parts freak like some.

Beating a dead horse, but the Bosch O2's threw codes in my 97 as well, within a mile of driving.

Reset the code and it was back within minutes.

I'm really only concerned with '94 and earlier. OBD I.

I just replaced mine on a 1993 with 193xxx on the ticker. It took all of about 2-3 hours start to finish reset EFI started and no codes. I payed $63 for both sensors through amazon so I couldnt justify spending 3X or 4X for OEM.

What ones did you use?

My concern with non oem is not just the code. I had bad sensors and no code. One was filthy, no way it could be working correctly, the other was stalling on rich, and still no cel. Proof that a 'No CEL' status does not equal proper operation. The replacement made a MASSIVE difference is power, emissions, idle, etc. So I'm sold on oem, at least for O2s. It's just not worth the money to screw around with something that's been hashed out over and over again. :deadhorse:

I have no idea on OBD2 fitment, but if we're talking OBD1 the long lead Denso sensors are something like $30 each from Rockauto. The short lead is almost twice the price. Two long lead Densos shipped for ~$60 and you're OEM golden.

Why do people keep quoting dirt cheap prices for O2's? I don't get it.
This is the only Denso they carry for 1FZFE with side by side cats. (93, 94) Denso's for 95's are $60 each.

I didn't know the IFZFE came in OBD1.. :meh: I should have said 3FE.
