That is weird. Only two vents as opposed to five. Is that odd little threaded nipple supposed to be the fuel pickup? No return line?
No return line only overflow from filler that I can tell.

If I just had my 69 home to do some research on…

Knowing the condition of this tank up close and personal, It is solid, clean and does not look at all like it’s 50 years old…there’s got to be a way to make it work for you, as I see it, it is a damn good tank

Here’s another diagram I found to accompany the one @bobm posted. This one shows a different style filler neck with a nipple coming off 90° of the other one with a check valve in line to the other vent.

Rush agree with your statement, must be some venting via the gas cap.

Overall looks totally doable to my amateur eyes.

Not sure which one you are looking for, but this popped up:

Bonnie doing same did little driving when it wasn’t raining last week. Still rough so ended up tracking down old timer with radiator shop x 45 years who says he has save a bunch of gas tanks.

While tank out gonna hit all the gaskets and hoses to try and cure any possible air leaks that me be present. Gonna start on the TBI first.

Life keeps throwing curve balls but slowing down. Kel can’t drive for 5 more weeks after last seizure so went and picked her up last Saturday. Been trying to get moved into shop for weeks finally spent first night in it last night so house project getting closer. Record rain fall in April and it just keeps coming with 4” this weekend.

My life has been like a sad country song with dog passing and working all the time but good things happening and I’m almost excited to drain and pull tank to see what this fella can do. Spare PS pump going to WA next week for rebuild. Gonna sneak in some interior door cards in meantime.

Keep your head up and stay strong. Life is good as long as you wake up in the morning.
Ron
I’m assuming you all are as soaked as we are. No brush hogging, spraying and weeds as tall already. Several wash outs that need some work.
