Looks great. Concerning the shocks, I just go with Monroe’s. I have a pdf that has all their shocks by length, min compression , max extension and end types. Probably won’t be a popular opinion, but I don’t think shocks make so huge a difference that it’s worth a lot of extra money .

What kind of fuel pump? Tank looks great! Might be doing that next, but it aint going back in. Think I found New OE tank, will know Monday.
Stuck my finger inside tank rubbed around top. Lots of rusty dust so evapo rust a sure thing!

I don’t like leaving farm on a weekend but for this I’m happy to.

Need to find some rubber or something to put onto tank so it won’t rub the frame when reinstalled.

Mike don’t disagree with you. They only do so much with the springs in my opinion.

So, if any of you who have wrestled the tank out from under a pig find your self in a situation where a baby has to be delivered, the baby is quite a bit easier.
I don't know about that. I delivered a ton baby goats and did two c sections (on goats) one live and one dead, let's just say I'd rather take an azz kicking then do that again. Life on a farm., bring on the gas tank. :)

Well anesthesia makes it much more manageable in the OR.

You’re just gonna have to take my word on this one!

Growing up we filmed vet doing c section on one of our cows. I got pleasure as young strapping young man of pulling calf out. Very memorable experience. I’ve done a few c sections when I was a family medicine resident and originally planned on being an ob/gyn.

I thank the lord most days I changed to family medicine. After a 100 deliveries the shine of welcoming a little one into this world wore off!!

I’d buy a ticket to see a baby delivered by a doc laying on his back underneath the mother! Likely not AMA approved.

Tank r&r is an adventure without a lift. Even after removing that extra rear support for the bumper hitch. Two hands and both knees if I recall correctly and a third arm would be handy. Replacement tank is looking good. Wonder if there’s a way to deal with the dent in the bottom of the removed tank.

Colorado is kicking tail this afternoon. How’s OK State doing?

Was in the OR for the c-section when Tony was delivered. Lost points and disrupted the doc’s concentration when I commented on his mother’s “nice marbling.” Bought a Ramcharger over the phone during the all day waiting room stay while Bonnie was in labor with Jessica.
Husband and Father of the Year x 2?

Stayed up late last night, went to bed at 1 am after my pokes came close to beating BYU. We took lead with minute left. BYU marched it downfield and scored in last 30 seconds.

We benched our crappy starting QB for young back up last night. Kid looked great, offense had some energy. Then poor kid has great run lands on shoulder in second quarter and likely broke his collar bone. Mediocre original starter back in and downhill we went.

I never left OR as sore as I am now after rolling around under the pig. But that was over 25 years ago, it might play a factor.

Pro Comps are on it now with about 50-thousand miles in them. I called their tech support and they had me measure distances between top and bottom mounts front and rear and then provided part numbers. Imagine other manufacturers would do the same. Takes into account compression and extension specific to the lift.

My only good stories of anesthesia are from the colonoscopies… it turns out to have been the most refreshing 15 minutes of sleep I ever get. You wake up feeling so revived ( for a day )

Ok, I don't know what to say about that. Colonoscopies and refreshing just don't go together in my book. :)

Agree with that opinion for the most part I guess with the exception that if you do run a lot of dirt roads lower end mono-tube shocks tend to blow out relatively quickly. You don’t really notice it in the ride quality so much as the oil running down the shock body. But yeah, for what would be considered “normal” driving, a Monroe is going to be as good as anything else on an ol’ Cruiser.

Bonnie’s fuel tank transplant. Thinking of taking wire brush and cleaning up exterior than spraying with some rust oleum black paint for some added protection.

Also want to flush with the vinegar I’ve been recently reading about, can anyone share if that’s a diluted mix?

Jim had tank cleaned and pressure tested in past just want to make sure all is perfect before doing swap.

Does Bonnie have any issues w/ fuel coming up out the inlet when it gets warm out?

It never did but Kim and I went to fill her up last week and when I took cap off fuel sprayed out on me.

Little unsettling watching gas smoking on the hot tail pipe below it.

I also believe Monroe a good OE quality shock and if you plan to take your pig to cars and coffee on Wednesday nights and chat with your buddies while wiping down the paint with your California duster then yes no need to upgrade to anything beyond that.

If you take your pig off road at all then there are some benefits to upgrading. With emulsion shocks (like Monroe) you are limited on how much work they can do by physical size and construction and yes not all emulsion shocks are created equal and there will be some slight benefits in valving and construction from brand to brand and I would stay away from those shocks that incorporate a built in bump stop but other than that buy your favorite color and rock on. I hear good things about the Bilstein 5100 emulsion shock.

If you drive a lot of fire road or desert trails then there are some huge benefits to a reservoir style shock (separate oil and nitrogen chambers) in ride comfort and control. Lots of options and price points for this style shock but if your budget will allow I would follow @scrapdaddy lead and buy some king shocks.

Ironman foam cell shocks.
Not a fan....

These have an internal bump stops and your shock mounts are not designed to take that type of load. It's a gimmick that could have less than desirable consequences on applications like a Landcruiser with their single shear lower shock mount.
