Well, bitter sweet tonight... Last I'll see of the venerable 1FZ-FE as off she goes to Slee for the 4.7L

But not to worry as she has already found a new home replacing an old, worn and tired 1FZ......

Also nice to have a friend and business professional who will personally get her to Christos for me.

And to boot, look what I get in my garage for the weekend...... Thanks Onur - Your service and professionalism is very much appreciated.

Super jealous. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that V8 in an 80. Love the engine in my 100 but the 80 just has that quintessential 90s charm...

Agree - I just couldn't let her go to move up to the Hundy.. Not as bad at the 200 Series, but there is nothing like the 80 Series except maybe the 70's.. I just want a good overland vehicle that will provide enough power to be a more comfortable drive and still have the nostalgia of the 80 ....

Well,

Here is how she sits now @sleeoffroad .. Drivetrain is out and they are doing the work on the motor.

Heads have been rebuilt, all new OEM starter, alternator, PS Pump, AC Compressor, Coils. Injectors sent for cleaning and just about every moving part is new OEM along with the brand new short block thanks to @beno. Basically a new 2UZ-FE...

Motor still getting the business from Joe.

The update from Christo this week is that the motor has been set and they are starting on the wiring. Hope to have some other pics for you guys next week.
