I'm at 7900 fully loaded for a trip but thats with 64 gallons of gas and spares, full tools and gear/food/etc. My trail tools are more complete than most people's set of tools at home.

8200 with no camp gear/food/etc is pretty crazy

Woof, 64g of fuel in CA o_O. Yeah, you're loaded to the gills amigo.

carrying around a spare camry. That's unbelievable o_O

I admire the guys carrying an entire snap on tool chest worth of tools with them but I usually roll around with a fusible link, plug kit, like 4 hand tools and some zip ties

I wish I could carry less parts and tools as I rarely need them. But the times I did need them, they came in quite handy not only for me but also for my friends.

My GF and I are heading to Death Valley in two weeks and not carrying a tool chest worth of tools and parts is inconceivable to me :). I'm ok with crappy mpg if it means my trip doesn't get cut short or incur unexpected expenses due to repairs.

Or, you know, you dying of exposure because you didn't take tools and something fixable breaks

Yeah, no

One time in DV, many years ago, another 80 candy striped his rear DS not too far from Stripped Butte. I had a spare one so he was able to drive home then mailed it back to me. Another time, I had the brake caliper hardware for another 80 that vibrated out over the washboards 👍 Thankfully, I have yet pull out the welder.....

I know that section before you drop into the area around striped butte, had to pull an f150 back out of there because they thought it could make it and its currently quite rutted with 3 large boulders as gate keeper.

Sounds like you’re the right person to be in the group! You’re like the land cruiser version of Tow-Mater from Cars 😛

I will admit my “lack of tools + supplies” is more likely caused by my lack of experience. I’m new to this world of off-roading vehicles but love the outdoors, backpacking and camping.

My ex GF called it the swiss army knife on wheels. 😁.

She loved the pneumatic blender very much 👍

How the hell is your rig that fat without being loaded?
I was on the same trip with @96bruizer and was shocked to find an 80 heavier than mine, being mine is 8100lbs. I think I ended up being the heaviest since my truck became the firewood mule each day as we loaded up the rack on top of the RTT with century old rail road ties and logs.

@NLXTACY will you be putting anymore of the turbo kits up for sale on your site?
