Bolt on turbo kit

I have a non-MUD customer going on a 5k trip with his turbo and he’s asking about spares. To date I haven’t had anyone detail any issues (other than that stupid installer error) so I’m trying to get a read if anyone has done or needed to replace anything on their kit so far that they haven’t mentioned to me or posted here on mud about?

^^^ - Why you > 99.9% other vendors.

You rock out /c*ck out - just asking to get flamed on the topic generally brings the neg comments over the guys who go turn-key reliability from a bolt-on turbo.

(a small miracle to those who don’t know)

Good on you J for even asking to hear the nega - Nellys try :grinpimp:

I feel like @LINUS is always posting drunk. :flipoff2:

The check valve near the charcoal canister went out on me and I replaced it with this check valve. I'd have a spare of this check valve in the 80.

I too am looking to buy a turbo kit.

I have about 8k miles on my Turbo after install with my full top to bottom rebuild in the past 2 years. Yeah it's not my daily and I got other vehicles to split the miles around. Turbo80 is the long trip truck. Anyway, the only thing that I had wrong with it is my OEM Charcoal Canister's last trip a few weeks ago to Fordyce. Other than the 4-5 oil changes I've done to it and my new Koyorad radiator.

Charcoal can was replaced with a VC120 from Autozone. Charcoal can was not related to the turbo, it was just old and already going out prior to the turbo/rebuild. Didn't help that a 30 year old can was putting up with 49 gallons of fumes from the Stock and LRA tank either.

That's a good tip, I'll pickup 2 of those check valves just in case. 1 to switch out and 1 for a spare for the truck. Boiling gas for 15 minutes at In N Out was not fun!

The only other spare parts I carry that I bought extra from Joey was the 2 Turbo Oil Lines and 2 extra Vband clamps.

Only part I have had to replace was the oil drain line. It's possible it wasn't installed right be me, but was hard to tell where the leak was coming from with the heat insultation covering in place. I was in a pinch to get going on a trip, so I had a new one made locally. I still need to get the original line presure tested to see if it is good or not. In either case, having spare oil lines would be handy to have.

I called Joey awhile ago and got on his wait list for the turbo kit.

Two things today:
1. Another kit shipped out
2. Have a customer demanding I cut the line and ship his today or else he will call his lawyer. Well I’m not doing that and I’ll never do that for anyone. Your place in line is your place in line. Period. So guess he’s is getting a refund instead.

Any lawyer getting involved in something like that is not a lawyer I would be afraid of...lol
Yes, this would be crazy small claims court. Just a junk yard dog comment from the customer. Plenty of lawyers will write a stupid empty threatening letter, that is as far as this stuff goes.
