Another kit ships out tomorrow. I'll post the updates next.

Ok time for an update on the components for the kits...

• For all of the loose AN fittings that I've been supplying I have been using Fragola. I use them because they are still mostly made in the US. But they have started farming out some stuff from China. Everyone else has also just switched everything to China. I'm not budging on sourcing these from non-Chinese sources but holy hell its been really tough. Fragola has been moving stuff overseas slowly but I think I am getting closer and closer to throwing in the towel on fittings because there is only so many things I can machine. Right now it seems Fragola has been doing a whole lot better at supplying what I need.

• All of the items that are done in-house are ready to go and I have plenty of. I have more than enough to handle all orders but IF (big IF) I start another run it'll mean every single one of these will need to go back into production.

• J-Pipes and Downpipes are currently a time issue. The shop that has been making them from the start has been having increasing labor issues and cancelled contracts and its made my stuff just low priority for them. I have contacted three other shops over the past six months that have given me work samples and pricing and to be honest, either the quality of the bends/welds isn't up to snuff or the pricing makes it incredibly restrictive. I've been given pricing that makes me think they just don't want the work. So for now I am staying with the original shop and I am just dealing with their timing best I can. I feel I have no other options currently.

• Turbos are still a pain to get. I have a standing order of 20 kits since May and they have filled exactly 5.5 of those since then. I have been told that I will be getting between 4-6 by February. So they are trickling in but I'm done trying to source them elsewhere. I keep getting promises of availability from other distributors only to come right back around and tell me s*** I already know.

• The turbo blankets are done and I think already headed to me so I think I am covered there.

• The Spark plugs required for the turbos have been on backorder for a couple months but I have been notified on Friday that I have 300 boxes coming my way in the next 10 days. That's 50 1FZ's worth of plugs but those also cover the inventory for the Supercharged plugs which are the same plug.

• Wastegates have been shipping but I still can't yet get them without a distributor's name engraved. They just haven't caught up to demand yet.

• Supply hoses- THIS is the big problem currently...
The previous shop I was using for the turbo hoses I fired. They ****ed up so hard that I knew I was never going to use them again. It worked out anyway because they are shutting down their operations because of family infighting. Good riddance. But over the past three months I have been trying out a handful of hydraulic shops to take over the hose production. Two of the shops will only deal with fittings that they deal with so this means all Parker or all Eaton only. This means these horsey looking hoses that look like they belong on a CAT excavator. I'm not doing it. They all had another issue. Each one wants between 4 and 5 TIMES the price of what I was paying. One of these was Pegasus Racing that I totally thought would be the winner since they are pretty big in the race world. They took 6 weeks to even get me a quote and that quote was stupid.

All of that has forced my hand. I have worked out pricing and delivery for a hi-end Parker hose crimper and stainless hose cutter. I will be purchasing both sizes of the stainless hoses and firesleeve and I will be making all of these hoses in house moving forward. Yes its a big buy-in for the tools but my price per hose will drop dramatically. So things are looking up in that department.

Thanks @NLXTACY for the update. For those of you who don't yet have your kit - It will be worth the wait. I smile every time I drive my rig!

One more turbo kit goes out tomorrow. This one is missing a couple items that I’m in the process of securing but luckily the customer is in the middle of a big build and so it’ll likely just sit on their garage floor for a minute 🤔

Still slow going but I’m pumping them out quick as I can.

Ok I’ve permanently solved one of my problems: hoses.

I’ve been floored by what hydraulic shops want to charge me for a production run for hoses. I’d understand if it was a one-time single hose, but not for a production run.

Well I got pissed off enough that I’m now bringing hose manufacturing IN HOUSE!

Spent way too freaking much on, not one, but two PARKER hydraulic 10k psi hose crimpers. No way I could afford new so picked up a set of used. Still paid too much. I’m annoyed but I gotta make changes. Between these two monster crimpers I think I can crimp literally every hose out there (except for DOT).

For what is needed for the turbo kits though, it’ll be cake once I get these two dialed in.

The first is a Parker MiniKrimp air over hydraulic. When it arrived it was an oily/greasy mess. It was cleaned up and tested. Didn’t work. Took it completely apart and cleaned some more. Full rebuild and now it works fantastically. All of the black pieces were resprayed with Eastwood Chassis Black and endowed with some representation. 😜

Oh! The best part is it’s portable so I can freaking run it off my Turbo truck’s York OBA system. BAM!

The other one is the Parker ParKrimp. This one is 110v hydraulic. It’s a freaking beast and it is incredibly heavy. Needs an engine hoist to move it around.

I need to clean it up and replace a broken cover and then test it. But holy cow this thing is a workhorse. Again, there isn’t much that these can’t crimp.

Ugh, well I WAS having a good week, til right now. 😔

The literal very last person to order the turbo thru the site kept seeing posts about turbo kits going out but he didn’t get his. He sent an email demanding his kit RIGHT NOW “or else”.

Well **** him cuz I don’t jump anyone in line. He went ahead and did a chargeback which costs me an additional $250 on top of the $6k and it comes out immediately. This of course throws finances into a bit of disarray.

So there is now a guaranteed spot I can open up for someone to replace this guy. 🙄

Dang, I'm sure someone will snatch that spot of quick.

Are the upper coolant outlet's still pending shipment? Also assuming Tasmania still has the timing chain tensioner's?

I know your inbox is flooded so I try not to spam you to much with questions on wait time.

I totally appreciate your attention to detail and your crazy analness 🤣 but I’ve always wondered why not just assemble some nice lines yourself using AN stuff?

Yeah I’m not worried either. Just a bummer.

Coolant outlets are waiting for me to find time to drill and tap. I’m just slammed but they’ll be heading out soon.

The Tasmanian FINALLY responded this morning. Unfortunately he’s had serious medical concerns so he was sidelined. But he’s working on shipping them out end of this week before he has more procedures done.

It is all nice AN stuff. But I didn’t want double big bulky AN fittings so I opted for crimper AN fittings that the fire sleeve could protect the hose and give it a cleaner look without looking so bulky.

It’s like people refuse to read before ordering and/or refuse to accept the terms of purchase.
