Only too much if you run 80+ MPH often IMHO. You'll like the extra control offroad. But if you do 4.88's and don't like it the easy solution is 37's
37s are incredibly tempting, but if im honest with myself I can do everything I do with 35s. I was more curious though in the context of turbo. I think there's an argument to be made on both sides that the higher RPM's with 35s/4.88s would be either good/bad on a turbo'd truck.

Have you ran against a 5.7 petrol 200??? Id wager id roll you
Keen to give it a go, however a petrol (gas) 200 is a rare thing over here and they get the 1UR-FE which is a 4.6. The LX570 gets the 3UR but never landed beside either at the traffic lights 😁

Have no interest in signing up for instagram and you can't see anything there unless you create an account. Do I have that correct, or is there someway to see that stuff without signing up? Would like to see the latest updates, but refuse to create any more social media accounts.
This is true, but you miss out on all the @Aloha Jen banned content ;)

Some good Land Cruiser content on Insta. Not my account though, mine is mostly beaches and bikinis, but sometimes my Land Cruisers show up.

your talking about 200RPM difference at HWY speed? To me its about keeping it closed loop on the fuel while cruising. I'm no expert on how this turbo will effect it but after 3200RPM it goes open from memory and fuel consumption goes way up.

Also keep in mind if 4.53 turns out to be your choice you can get that with T-case gear swap for less than the two R&P.

I have 4.88 now with 315's. 37's go on soon as I await my Turbo. I plan low gear t-case gears to gain back my trail reduction.

What's everyone's thoughts on gearing? Having my diffs set up in the next few months. I am going to be running 35's, the obvious choice is to pair with 4.88's but if I plan to turbo will that be too much over gearing? Should I consider 4.56 instead?
Having run a 60mm BW turbo, my opinion is that 4.88 would only make the turbo that much better. It should help you reach boost quicker so that you have the opportunity to actually use a little bit of boost for around town type driving without having to floor it. Of course, the main reason I wanted the turbo was for highway driving. And in that sense, re-gear is totally unnecessary. But if you're digging into the diffs and spending the money anyway, I would go with the conventional 4.88 personally.

Thems is fightin werds.... I don’t think you would. But, in the interest of science, can you time a 0-60mph for us?

That's the beauty of the interwebs - we're worlds apart and both think we're right - ha
I'll figure out how to clock 0-60 & i'll post back. Im sure there's an app for it

Was my thinking as well. The easier to be in boost, the better.

@NLXTACY - Turbo purchase made
Mad jelly.

Just got off the phone with the pipe shop. All four pipe pieces, US made silicone couplers and US made clamps will start coming off the assembly line in 3-4 weeks.

I have another turbo and wastegate heading over to them so they can fixture the downpipe with a set J-pipe.

Progress people. Progress!

On that note we need the dyno graphs and see where the power and torque kick in vs stock. @NLXTACY As long as it kicks in around 2k it’s plenty for around town and what not without flooring it to spool the turbo. I don’t need nor want WOT hero performance numbers, I want usable everyday performance boost.

I don't think AWD burnouts are going to be in the cards for users of this kit  Unless you do a LOT of end-user adjustment.

I'm running 4.56s/315s and live/play at 5,000' and above. I'll be curious to see how this combo works for my application. Vehicle weight is 7,000 lbs. Quite a few of my trips involve many hours on the hwy before airing down so an engine just loping along with the occasional boost should work out well, in theory!

You, my friend, have the patience of a saint!

..........and in desperately need of a turbo! :hillbilly:

But think of the AWD burn outs! That is why we're all doing this anyway, right?

No need for a lot of end-user adjustment!
I’m thinking Prius tires at all four corners inflated to 95psi on a slightly uphill wet road in 10 degree weather should do the trick. 🤪
