The other day i took the trail up the back side of the Bradshaw mountains to Crown King, some of the trail was ruff so when i got home i inspected the underside of my truck for any damage,

The good news was, no trail damage found, but i did find a BIG 7 inch long crack in my muffler!

Well i checked, the factory Toyota muffler for my 1994 Land cruiser is now NLA,

I did a search, and saw that some members had tried Walker, along with Borla which is now BRExhaust,

Seems reports from some members who installed those mufflers said they were not happy with the fit of Walker or Borla,

I see a company called Ansa is offering a bolt in replacement muffler, but I've been unable to find any reviews as to how well it fits,

So my questions is, what brand of muffler have members installed on their truck that they were happy with it's fit?

Every section of the exhaust for a 94 is still available, but pretty expensive. I replaced my entire exhaust with all OEM except the cats and muffler. I cheaped out and used an ANSA muffler from rockauto. Kind of wish I had went with the OEM muffler. It's holding up fine so far, but is definitely louder than OEM.

edit: I am mistaken, the muffler (17403-66030) seems to be NLA now.

I need to replace the exhaust on another 94, so I am interested in the other replies here.

Impex show one available. Might be worth placing and order.

Any US dealer can get it in 1 day.
Not to be a PIA, but i called 3 different Toyota dealership parts departments in the Phoenix Arizona metro area, and they all told me the same thing,

They said it's a discontinued part, and nothing shows up in their online system under that part number 17403-66030, I even ask them to run it on Toyota's nation wide dealer parts locator system, but they all told me since the part number 17403-66030 has been discontinued that nothing would show up,

So i called some online Toyota dealerships and got the same answer, the parts been discontinued, none remaining in the USA system,

So if your computer access to Dealership parts here in the states can tell you which dealership has one in stock, or if the part number has been superseded, I'd be very pleased to have that info so i could call them direct,

Will this part (17403-66041) fit the 1994 without modifications?
It shows as correct only for 1995-1997.

No dealers will have this on the shelf.

I provided the PN that will work.

Do what you want.
When I'm wrong i admit it,, my apology OGBeno, i made the mistake of asking the dealerships for the old part number 17403-66030, not the new part number 17403-66041 that you provided, my bad on me, Thank you again for providing a part number that will get me what i need, and again, my sincere apology!

Well I'm sorry to report that P/N 17403-66041 looks nothing like the photo that Malleus posted above, If it did it just might of worked,

Below is a photo of P/N17403-66041 that i bought, and can confirm that it will not fit the 93-94 land Cruises without MAJOR modifications,

After spending $675 dollars on buying it, that's something I'm not willing to do, so I'll just return it and go with an aftermarket muffler,

Sadly, there is no truth in advertising anymore:

Same search, same dealer, new page. Looks just like the one they gave you. :(

I bought the ANSA muffler and tailpipe for my 94. My downpipes were shot too though, so I moved the O2's to the PAIR locations in the manifold and am currently working to fab up a pipe that goes from the Magnaflow 23120 y-pipe/cat, over the frame, to the ANSA muffler. Seems like it's going to work fine but wish I could have just purchased a complete aftermarket kit that bolts up.

I fit a Magnaflow Generic and the Drone at Highway speed was Horrible. Ended up fitting an OEM one again. The Magnaflow Y Catalytic Converter pipe is Great thou.

Since we are talking 80 mufflers again...

can anyone confirm that the 80 whistle is because of the OEM muffler, or is it from elsewhere and an aftermarket muffler will also whistle?

The OEM Muffler is Optimized to the Engine.
The Magnaflo Muffler I subbed in had Bad Drone at Highway Speeds.

My Friend is Running the Bosal (Not to be confused with Borla) and he has not complained of the Drone.

I Refuse to put on an Aluminized Steel Muffler and become part of the 3-5 Year Return Plan after it Rots Off.
The OEM Muffler is 409 Stainless (Low Grade) and it will last 20-25 Years.
All 3 of my Toyotas have lasted this Long in the North.

I just installed a Breexhaust muffler along with a Magnaflow y pipe, cat, and then the OEM tail piece. No fit issues at all for me and it's nice and quiet.

The truth be told i live in the desert southwest with very little snow, and salt on the roads in the winter time, I got 30 years out of my original factory muffler before the outer sheet metal housing cracked all the way around the muffler, If i could get my hands on a new factory Toyota muffler for my 94 i would buy it and install it in a second, Sad to say that looks like it's no longer an option,
