Wow. This has got to be the finest BJ62 build I've ever seen. Just reading this thread has encouraged me to try and put together a workshop when I finally finish this trip and strip down my hammered together rig and try to make it half as nice as yours.

Congratulations on coming to the final steps! I have no doubt that that kid will also be learning to drive in this rig

Thats is the plan....

I am going drive it for the next 16 years, then its hers.

Thanks for your kind words.

The pictures make it look really good.....

They always do.

In my eyes it's just "your basic 62 with a 3b and 2 gallons of Rustoluem."

Congrats on an awesome wagon man! It's really coming together beautifully.
Congrats on the little one too! Our boy is 5 weeks and growing FAST. There's a book "Happiest Baby on the Block" that my wife swears by. It has some good knowledge in it.
I didn't get to drive him home from the hospital in the cruiser. :-( Cause JimC has my carb. :-)

Thanks man! Congrats to you, too.

I will definitely check out the book.

I have no real world experience with babies and will need all the help I can get!

I am a recent graduate from "baby college" at the local hospital, so "I got that going for me".

Supplemental text always helps.

Good choice on a Jim C carb rebuild.

He rebuilt my 71 40 carb and it probably ran better than when it left the showroom.

Rear bumper sb'd, primed and painted hammered black.

Front bumper left chrome.

All bumper caps were painted hammered black also.

Thanks Lowtideride and Tofudebeest for the free bumpers.

I will be bolting them on the truck this week sometime.

Go ahead and black out that front bumper. I was gonna. and if you do, they'll match...

Mel, thanks again for the complete wiring harness. Your build is amazing, your making me feel bad about my swap. I need to go buy some more "rustoleum" for inspiration!!! May need some tech advice as I get further into it, keep me a pie hot and ready with a cold pitcher of , I may come down any day for a slice and see this rig in person.

Mel, this is one incredible build thread.

Where are things at, looks like a while since any update. Congrats on the 1st born, that's just awesome. I still remember bringing our first home in the cruiser, my wife says I left a good 30-40 feet between me and the cars in front most of the ride home LOL.

I'm going to be doing a frame swap within the next year on my BJ60 and I may be looking to you for some answers if you don't mind. I'm getting a FJ60 frame and I want to have the frame all prepared and ready to go before I do the swap so I'll need to know where the motor mounts go on the FJ frame for the 3B.

Anyway, great job on making one very cool rig. Make sure you get some gauges hooked up to your turbo to tell you what's going on.

I guess we'll be seeing more of you in the diesel section eh?

If you are picking a frame, you might as well go for a 62. Subtle upgrades, but they are there...

Waiting on a ps hose.

The hose shop said it should be ready Monday.

Frank has made a custom ps bracket (not installed)

Note lower radiator hose. The ps pump mounts above it.

New ac lines are also being made Monday.

Gunnar will charge system with freon and I should be driving it home then.

Can't Wait

Nice work. Beautiful truck!

You are ready for ROTW!!!:bounce:

The elbow you have off the turbo going into the butterfly is not going to hold for too long. Although I did get 5-6 thousand miles before it split. The heat and pressure split mine wide open.

I ended up using rad hose and have a couple thousand mile on it now. I plan to get silicon instead.
