just a couple quick shots ...
the PC springs and roller fairlead came back ...
all the parts get sand blasted, blown out, whipped down with solvent to make sure no grease is in the pores, the sprayed with PC paint, heated and inspected.
Scott does an amazing job.

if all goes well, this aft i should have the frame back from the PC and all the other parts.
then the build is on hold till the parts come in from Radd Cruisers in a week to two weeks...

more pics tonight.

i have taken Lostmarbles advice and will refrain from posting the lady pics.

Goose bumps!

At least that doesn't need explaining to an Ice Road Truckers affectionado like me...

(What a desolate inhospitable place you choose to live in!)

:D

smokin'
loaded and ready for a second sand blasting and then PC

hard to believe this dull paint ends up looking ... purdy after a bit of heat is applied, eh?

the alternator checked out fine
but
the starter had issues ...
the contacts were wearing uneven which lead to finding that the bearing had turned in the case at one time
and
the front mounting hole was elongated

so a new housing was sourced and installed
the elongated hole will need to be machined out and a sleeve installed...

rims look good
4 core rad completed
if you live in a humid area and have raw steel that needs to sit for a couple weeks etc then a coating of WD40 works well at keeping the rust at bay
so every piece of naked steel was coated ...

now this isn't all the parts, there are still the bumper lower and upper, rear hitch, drums and of course the frame to be picked up on Tues ...

just remember children ... :hmm:

seat belts save lives.

Looks good crushers. Glad too see you are getting ahead of things. I do miss the days... Not gonna lie!!! One question. .....is that a jeep I see in one of them pics. ??? Just asking. Lol. Feel free too call me anytime. I think the dust has settled and would love too chat. I'm home at the end of August . If your up too it I would like too patch things up and let the dogs play again. Just sayin. Ignore or respond... Balls in your court.

Dont you get "Innox" branded spray lubricants where you are , bought can of wd40 last night as had no innox , crap compared to innox( lanox been using) . good build - what type paint you use for the springs ?

I always say you cant beat where the 2 legs meet, tits are just lumps on a chest lol

the frame is done ...
the years in the Eastern rust belt has not been kind to the frame but the frame is much stronger than it was when it came in.
it should last the owner for a quite a period as long as it is cleaned properly and often. i would suggest washing it out every weekend during the snow months and once a month during the summer if driven on muddy roads or trails. caked in mud has to be the biggest killer of these truck frames and salt will be a close second.

Looking sweet. The frame I mean.

I may not know cruisers as well as some, but I have my areas of expertise, and that woman's behind looks aftermarket to me.

Haha, aftermarket or OEM, they each have their benefits!
Nice work on the BJ42 too Crushers, I always enjoy your threads.

today it was the dash,
we needed to locate the 3 gauges, radio, ARB switches, dash box

at first this seemed to work:

june 2012 072.webp
june 2012 075.webp

but then when checking the defrost ducts are in the way of the radio
so
the radio was moved over. drawn in and will need to be moved back the other way to clear the ashtray.
there will be one ARB on each side of the radio.
the 4way switch will be moved down.
a choice between silver on silver or white on black. the final decision was white on black ...
