Just dropped off big red at Edwin's shop. Getting new ac lines made and fixing some electrical gremlins. Once he moves to his new location the locker installs will start.

When your AC works does it blow cold with your intercooler in front of AC condenser?

it blows cold, not as cold as the old AC when the 3fe was in it.

This is more for my own records and possibly anyone else trying to figure out their p pump set up.
Right now i have the softest AFC spring in with the star wheel centered and the fuel plate centered. It did not work too well when the starwheel was all the way forward (boost was lacking). With this current set up there is little lag and the engine is very responsive. EGTs are manageable ( around 1000 to 1100 on the top end. The only issue with this set up is the rig no longer hits 75 mph. It gets to 65mph easily then you can slowly work up the momentum to 70mph. I will drive it around a little longer like this then move the starwheel all the way back to compare.

Sounds like you need more fuel on the top end. Unfortunately, you will be going back and forth tweaking it trying to find a happy medium.

More fuel. You have too much weight and too big of a tire to push the truck along without the fuel.

Yeah, I might slide the fuel plate a little forward and the star wheel more to the rear. I'm already tired of taking the pump apart.

But I bet you're pretty good at it now :)

That's one of the small benefits to the VE pump. All the pump tweak points are easy to get to.

Is not difficult, I just can't use my right hand to get to most bolts. So that just makes a 5 minute job turn into a 15 minute one.

If you are daring you can modify/grind your fuel plate to get more fuel. There are some templates on the Cummins forums I was not daring and just bought one.

Cimarron, I don't want to grind it because the EGTs will sky rocket. It started off with the fuel plate all the way forward, that's when I was able to do 83 mph, but my Pyro was hovering at 1200 easily even with the methanol. I just need to find that happy medium. I'll keep messing with it for now.

Are you adjusting the rear screw as well? I remember there being two adjustments when installing mine. I could be wrong.

Getting to that top bolt was a pain.

What kind did you get? Who makes the OEM Cunmins starter anyway?

I got the cheapest one on rock auto. $98, but it looks like the starter isn't the issue. Still having the hit or miss starts
