Mike, if you decide to go with custom AC lines, these guys are really good, http://www.austinrebuildersinc.com/. They did my lines when I went with the vortec conversion.

Thanks Luis. I'm hoping to avoid going that route so I can save some money. But if I have to get lines I will look them up for sure.

I guess this means summer is coming reminding me I need to get my AC working as well.

Drove home with the ac on full blast. Felt great, but got home to find this.

Had to take of the air box to get to it. Put a new nut and decided i need to move the windshield washer fluid bottle tip make room.

Won't be able to install it until next week at the earliest. I have midterms and heading out to round up tomorrow.

Yup. Going Walter White with it.

You can preset the actuator to spray at whatever boost level you choose and it's simpler than installing an aftercooler. However I won't celebrate until it works properly.

I ran the snow performance kit on my last car (mk5 gti) which was a turbo car. It made a HUGE difference. It is a very stable system and once you learn how to use it, it is very effective. I know the cars are different but the concept is the same. Let me know if I can help you with the setup.

Two nozzles about 12 inches from each worked well for me. Just make sure you have enough pressure to "vaporize" the fluid.

thanks for the pics and help. I called snow performance and we talked a bit about what I'm looking to achieve. They were recommending a system with an electronic control module. I decided against it because I want it as simple as possible and EMP proof :smokin:. Decided to go with Devil's Own because it was $200 cheaper with good reviews. I do need a bigger intercooler, but I would have to find a way to relocate one of the ac return lines. Researching my engine more I found out that it was built with an aftercooler not an intercooler. So I figured why not keep my intercooler and add an aftercooler. After listening to some opinions on this forum, I decided that it might be a complicated system that will not guaranty results. So methanol injection was the last resort. My rig drives and runs great, but is heavy because of all the armor and my fatness, I just need to drop the EGTs by 100 or so once I'm doing long uphill stretches. I cruise at around 10 psi of boost, so I figure if I set the actuator to 13-16 psi it would just kick in when I need it to. I'll have to experiment with the numbers to find what is ideal, but in theory this should fix my problem.

I was hoping to have the kit installed before round up, but it arrived yesterday. There was about a week's delay in shipping. I'll install it when I get back and after I'm done with tests. I'll post up the results as I get them and who knows, this could be a great idea or a waste of money.

It's never a waste of money, it's spending towards your "education". :D That's how I trick myself.

Are you making your ACC minions do the install for you? Were you able to get your A/C recharged at school as well?

The AC was charged at ACC. They expressed interest in doing the methanol install but if it's gonna take more than one class I'll do it myself.
The teachers like making the students work on my rig because it forces them to think instead looking it up in the system.

This weekend was round up. It seemed like there were less people this year, but we still had a blast. I ended up not wheeling Big Red because I was too lazy to put down the tent and it was too high to clear the easy trail ( low tree branches). I was also planning on doing the county line trail and camp at the river, but I guess that fell through or was cancelled. I ended riding along with the guys. Hunter, son of Edwin from the clan Kincaid did a great job of going everywhere in his first gen 4 runner. Seriously an impressive machine. Anyway I'm still sifting through videos and pictures so I'll upload a few now and more when I get home.

with Hunter, very off camber

by the way the camera does no justice to how off camber and tippy we were
