Will swapping them fix the lean or make it go the other way?

I just did so with my front springs and it helped mine.

Is your motor offset to one side or the other? Stock, the fj60 engine is way over to the driver side. This, plus you in the driver seat is why OME makes different, or sided springs for these big wagons.

Its free to try... I would have to try if mine leaned like yours does, just sayin'. ;p

I might just make a little trip to the community college to use their equipment again.

I was running late to class and a semi wouldn't get out of the way. I managed to get Big Red to hit 60 mph on the dash (70-75 in real life I guess) and pass him . It did so with relative ease and I managed to keep EGTs below 1000*. I normally don't drive it that fast since it's not easy to stop it, but it's nice to know that little 4 cylinder diesel can haul when it needs to.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, when I get a rear bumper I intend to get one with dual tire carriers( so I can go to BFE and back). Anyone know of any that can fit two 37.in tires? pics would be helpful as well.

I'll look and see if I can find the picture and send to you.. A dual spare set up swing out.. The tires were centered (stacked, image a set of dually rear wheels) in the swing out with a 5 gallon jerry can on each side. The guy had made it from a piece of 2" solid barstock for the spindle and what looked like 2 7/8" pipe with brass sleeves/bushings..

IPOR solid spindles are strong as hell, but IDK if they would take that much weight. I'll be building new bumper for my new ride in the next few months and I'll play around with this idea a little.

I'll see what I can come up with and send it along.

Thanks for the reply and I'm glad Wyoming's rig found a good home. I can't wait to see all the improvements you add to it. I think I know what style you are talking about, I've seen it once, but with smaller tires. I'm thinking more like having a tire on each swing out. It might stick out a bit from the side and probably block the rear view near completely, but it would get me to where ever I'm going and back. So far I've narrowed my search to either Cruisin Offroad and 4x4 Labs. Jason from Cruisin Offroad did my sliders and they are good quality work and I've only heard good things about Luke and his bumpers. I want to research it a bit more and save up a bit more before squeezing the trigger on this one. I also need to start saving for a descent paint job, mine is fading and several shades of red now. Basically I need a side job and a sugar mama.

My vote is for 4x4Labs. I've welded up two of his DIY rear bumper kiss and saved a ton of money going that route. Also, if you're going with Teo big ass tires, you might have to add extra brake/turn /reverse lights because your tires will be blocking the stock lights.

My vote is for 4x4Labs. I've welded up two of his DIY rear bumper kiss and saved a ton of money going that route. Also, if you're going with Teo big ass tires, you might have to add extra brake/turn /reverse lights because your tires will be blocking the stock lights.

I like the 4x4 labs rear and the 4+PLUS rear bumpers. Both companies off a good amount of customization. I think you'll have to get a little creative in the way you mount two 37s though

You should check out "Fourrunners" DIY rear bumpers. He is on the forum and makes rear bumpers to your spec. You will just have to weld it together. I have mine with dual swing outs but only have one side occupied by a tire. I'm not to far out and could weld it together for you if you went that route!

The vision I have for my rig is to have a rear bumper that also protects the quarter panels which leaves 4+ out of the running. I haven't heard of fourrunners kit before, would be interested to see it.

That looks beefy, but doesn't protect the rear panels. What size tires are you running.

I kinda miss the old land rover defenders, you could mount a spare on the hood, on the roof and on the rear bumper. If you're really desperate can also mount it on the front bumper as well.

Just let me know man! I'm very pleased with the thickness and quality of the steel, has held up very well for 3 years.

I have 35s on there right now, hoping to jump to 37s in the near future since I'm doing a soa setup and do not want it to look like I have training wheels on it. And for the rear quarter protection, it could easily be added onto the bumper. That's the beauty of the DIY kit because you can build it to your specs. All it would take is a little scrap steel and some time fabbing it up!

Personally, I think all you need is one spare and a nice tire repair kit. Keep it simple.

I have 4 bias tires and 4 radials with slightly different diameters. So if I change one, I should change the opposite tire as well if it's gonna be a long way back. I'll most likely get a bumper with one tire carrier and keep the other one in the back. The truck is too tall/i'm too lazy to mount it on the roof.

My back aches just thinking about that. Hell, my 35" BFG's are a pain to heft onto the tire carrier for this old man.

yeah the weight of the split rims and the military tires are no joke, I remember it took me a few hours to swap them out when i first got them because I had difficulty lifting them. Then again I was also using a cane to walk around back then. The bias ones with the aluminum wheels are so much easier to handle.
