I'll let you know how well the air box works tomorrow. I just got my snorkel delivered a few hours ago. I'm not too keen on drilling a hole in the body and I've never done one before so I'm a bit nervous about it. But I keep thinking how awesome it will look once it's installed. I'm thinking this saturday is when I'll do it.

it sure looks like it. Are you gonna make it saturday to help me with the snorkel? It says LAND CRUISER on it, it's pretty sweet.

ah that sucks. I like your 40. I'm the same way, the next toy I get I'd have to lose one from my current inventory. Problem is I love my bike and my jetta. Luckily I'm now broke so this won't be an issue for some time.

Thanks for the link. I've read up on it a bit before ordering and from what I can tell you either hate it or love it. I have friends who have snorkels on and they don't have any complaints. Most of the people who don't like it don't have it installed, which makes it difficult to understand what they are basing their opinions on. I'm open to suggestions. What do you guys think, make the cut or not?

I think you mentioned it once. Got Big Red back and it looks like I'll be regearing to lower gears eventually. I just need to save for the air lockers first.
So how does it run now? EGTs? Boost?

Productive day today. Went to one of our club members shop who is also a land cruiser mechanic and worked on our rigs. I had the AC done and installed the snorkel. Had a lot of help and encouragement from the guys there. Without them I would need a new fender. Here are some pictures.

A few more poser pictures. Now I need to look for 3.73 gears and lockers. I want air lockers, but the more I think about it the more I'm inclined to look at lsd or other mechanical ones. They are expensive and I'll probably use them one a year. I'm open to suggestions from you guys
On a separate note, it is so nice to have ac back in the truck.

Just enjoy it as is and take some time to recover financially from the swap. Your rig is plenty capable now.

this will be further down the line,I always need a goal in mind so this will be the next big thing.. The EGT are lower by a bit, but still up there. I'm spinning about 2000rpm at 55/60 ( hard to get an accurate read because of the 37 in tires). Would like to get more mpg and speed at that rate.
BTW congrats on your pig, how are you liking it?
Yeah, your RPMS are definitely high if you're cruising at 55/60 at 2k RPM. Wait, your speedo is off right? Get your GPS and compare the speed on your speed to the GPS to get how much you're off by (%). That will give you a better idea. On mine, with the 3.73 gears/700r4/35's, the speedo is off by 23%.
