Looking good dude. Absolutely love the blacked out beige cruisers. Where you located in Cali?

Thanks bro.
Sac-o-tomato-ish....

Really? Where at? I grew up in the central valley (Escalon) so I know the area. Best friend lives in Roseville, family in Natomas and West Sac, family in Davis and Arbuckle. So I somewhat know the area.

Born and raised in Davis, now in Lambtown ;)

Update: went by and finalized color and body work at shop today. Brand new, straight bodied, 2 stage (base/clear) 494 here I come!!! only thing is that since I was referred by a friend of theirs and negotiated such a good price, I have to wait a month to get it back! :( It will be worth it though!! :D

Update.

Figured I would show some progress, cruiser porn for y'all ...

Please let me know what you think/what you see. I will be giving them the final "ok" to paint in next day or two...

nice job on the body work and rust repair!

I am stoked about it!! Might be overkill because I plan on actually using and wheeling this thing, but feels great to be starting with /getting something clean and straight.

Props to Mr. Lee (old Vietnamese dude at P&P auto body) in Sac-o-tomatoes, CA for doing the body work!

They just called and said its ready for paint so I am going down within the hour to check her out and give the thumbs up or thumbs down. Anyone see anything drastic?

What is the price you negotiated if you don't mind me asking? Are you staying with the stock color?

No.....it looks like this isn't that guy's first rodeo. Looks pretty good. One can't get up next to it and look across it using shadow to gauge in pictures but it looks like he knows what he's doing...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too... He's been doing it at this same place for 20 yrs... Really cool old dude, bad to half decent English. Had fun doing the final walk around with him today...
It looked great and only had him take the rest of remaining rubber windshield gasket off along the base of the windshield and seal the entire rain gutter with seam sealer...

not really sure of the etiquette on this cuz they gave me a price saying "because you came knowing Kevin.." he is the glass guy I have referenced on here... He talked to them for me ahead of time. He does a bunch of glass work for them...

I'll just throw it out there cuz I have already given them a shout out on here. The owner did show me a $4000 invoice for a body and paint job for someone else, and gave me a tour before hand, and showed me a paint only invoice on a Acura sedan for $2000. So, that said I got them to do the paint, 2 stage base/clear for $1000. I got Mr. Lee to do the body work for $750. They told me it would take a month at that price and would just work on it as they had time.... :D

One thing I see...

looks like this seam is not perfect... could just be the shadows, but it looks liker a little too much filler in the gap, and needs to be shaved down... again it could just be the shadows in the photo.

Just trying to help.

Big difference from before!!!

Thanks db!! That fender line definitely needed the most help. I think the pic may just be shadow though, or difference in color due to sanding down the filler/primer/etc...
Should see how it looks tomorrow or next day!!
:D

Wow that thing is going to look great. You will definitely have to throw up some pics once you receive her back from paint. Did you decide on the original 464 color code or did you go with something different?

Stayed original!! I like the concept of keeping it original and it will look better since I'm not redoing all the door jams and interior paint...
Blacking out all the exterior with low gloss black :)

Hey, I hope it isn't too late but I noticed the same thing dbleon did and had a suggestion. Take your rear light down and install it, if it lines up and seats correctly then its good to go - how do I know? I went through this 2 days ago :\

On my passenger side, the lense/gasket was cracked and warped, this was causing rain water to leak into the rear quarter panel on my passenger side - a lot of water. I removed the light/housing and shop vac'd the water out - then I bought 2 (Driver/Passenger) side lights (Housing/gasket/lenses), when they arrived I had trouble seating the passenger housing, thought it was a bad fit knockoff so I tried the driver side, fit like a glove. Went back and started inspecting the passenger side and realized looking close that the truck was smacked in the same place as yours at some point, bondo/painted over - it looks fine w/ out the light, but you can tell when you try to fit it. I got the light in, there is still an 1/8 of an inch or so gap at the top that I am going to fill w/ black sealant to prevent my water leak issue from returning.

Good luck - I would have stayed stock as well.

Thanks Minium. I will take the housings in this week for sure. It actually had a gap with the housing in before (I think someone replaced the housing/lens and left the body work undone... I guess I just figured it would fit right once twy straightened te body, but it makes sense that they would need something to go off of

Cheers!

I think I'm going to go have a black and tan myself...

Nice, I recognized the buildings from your pics - looks like that shop is right down the road from the RC Willey distribution center - my parents live right up the road from there.

It'll look good!
