I bought 5 15' OEM tire rims from Yahoo Auctions and was wondering what tires everyone uses? I want to find a tire that does the job of overloading but also can go on long distances in the main highways and expressways

Boxers or briefs? What oil do you prefer?

Tires are a personal preference. What works and is acceptable to others might not work for you, your application, or budget.

Where are you looking to explore? Does road noise bother you? What size are you looking at? Do you anticipate driving with them in snow or ice? Is mud performance needed?

Thread over, no need for more discussion!
(You're welcome btw, as ive just saved you 100 hrs of internal debate and turmoil)

Hi
We first need to know
- the vehicle & suspension/ lift (to consider sizes that might / not fit or require additions like spacers),
- your vehicles engine / power,
- your location (as not all brands are available or recommendable everywhere, also considering local legal requirements) and
- your primary way of using the vehicle with the tires (road use overlanding, rock crawling mud, sand, heavy towing, heavy loads e.g. campervan ...)
Example:
I have the same rim size on my BJ73 with a low powered 3B (90ish hp) with a 50mm OME lift. I'm in Germany, so, to be legal, I need to stick to tire sizes registered with my vehicke and I need the '3 peaks' legal classification logo for winter tires in the EU on my tires.
I'm mainly doing onroad travels, with occasional greenlaneing (dirt roads) and sometimes offroading.
So I went with an All Terrain (AT) tire 31×10.5×15, load Index 109S. Bigger tires would rub the wheel well on my BJ73 and also not work well eith my low power.. I have 6mm spacers in the front to clear my tierods at -10 offset. As a brand I choose BFG KO2 (this is where preferences and debates may start 😅). One of few tires that have the 3 peaks winter classification though.
I'm quite pleased with the BFGs. Never let me down, even when doing more serious offroading, they just need something to bite into. They are a bit slippery on hard wet ground, though. Not a big deal for me as I (or my rig) is going rather slow anyways.
Maybe this helps.
Good Luck Ralf

Hello,

Regardless of your choice, please keep in mind that big, wide tires eat up axle bearings and seals.

It is better to stay below 10.5 in. or 255 mm.

Skinny tires are good both on and off road and do not mess with your drivetrain.
