Second, I picked up one of those cheap bungie-web things that are supposed to hold every thing down on a roof rack. I then attached a ratchet strap between the driver's and passengers side rear ceiling grab handles. From there, I hooked one side of the bungie-web to the taught ratchet strap and hooked the opposing side of the bungie web to the bottom of the folded up rear seat so it hangs vertically (like Plastic Man and a dog guard had an illegitimate child). It creates this unbelievably useful space to storage things in between the back side/on top of the folded up rear seat and the bungie-web. Everything from jackets you don't need at the moment to over stuffed suit cases slip right in and don't move at all. I haven't had a bag of groceries fall over since I did this and I can't think of an instance where I needed to get something out of my way while in the front seat where this didn't work - unless you count that Double Big Gulp Slurpee in Scottsdale.

I now consider it on par with my steering wheel for essential equipment.

Can you post a picture of this? I'm having a hard time imagineering this. And welcome to mud. :D (I don't do the Trudeau salute).

How bout these little goodies.

1. Rock lights from Auto Zone discount table..80 Watt halogens $9.99 a set. (2"x3" oval) small but very bright.
2. A dollars worth of self stick felt from Hobby Lobby to keep my key ring from makin noise against the column.
3. $5.00 set of mag light clips to mount a mag light inside each front door on floor board.
4. $15.00 for everything to put a auto on/off light & always hot power socker inside my console
5. Added a power antenna from a parts rig I bought. Now no more ripping off my antenna while wheelin.
6. I bought some 1" wide woven strap & made loops out of it big enough for bungee cords. then serewed then into the corners of my 60s cargo area, as well as along the sides & across the front & back at the floor. Now I have 12 tie down pionts that when not in use just lay flat & are not intrusive.

I grabbed my phone to go get a photo (quickest way to get a photo on the internet for me) and the darn thing decided it is on strike. I"ll try to post up as soon as I am able.

OK, here's two views of the cargo net and what I did with a screwdriver, a drill, a jerry can holder and a few Quick Fists (the empty Quick Fists hold a shovel when called for).;

These are all good mods, but #6 is brilliant!

Trudeau salute?

You must be Canadian to make a reference like that. :D

Looks groovy. But your 60 seems to be designed WAY differently from my 60... like maybe yours is an FJCruza?

Sweet storage RuffinIt! I bet that could be used across the rear hatch just as well.

X2! Here's to me being unRoverfied for more than year now!

Got a Hella maplight after reading this thread a few months ago. I agree it's a great <$50 mod!

Fire extinguisher I found in our old utility trailer the other day when we dumped all the junk out of it. Free! It had the mount on it already, but it was missing the pin, so I busted out my box of nic-naks and found a grenade pin I had been saving for whatever. Then I swiped some screws from my uncle's basement construction zone and screwed it right into my rear inside plywood panels.

I like that shag carpet Gabbo!

Nice job on that extinguisher.

I've used so many of these tips - here's my contribution.

I'm a LED geek, and got this from superbrightleds.com - about 20$ iirc.

It's a .5 Watt LED flashlight that you plug into your cig lighter to charge. Supposed to get 2 hours burn from a full charge.

It's always charged, always ready to use. I've also found that because it's so small you can get it into tight spots to see better (inside fenders, up under dash, etc.) which makes it really handy. Also can hold it in your mouth to use both hands (hard to do with a maglight without looking like a gay porn star (for us guys)).:ban:

No affiliation (though i should own stock with these guys). I've used a ton of their LED's. Their Dome light and Cargo light mods should be their own <$50 mod.

I was in High School during Trudeau's reign, and my Dad moved us up to B.C. to a tiny town called Granisle by Smithers. He was a manager at the copper mine on Babine Lake. I had a blast.

Is that the mine they use for movies and TV shows now?
