My upper bellhousing has a crack so I’m looking to source a good one. Thanks!

I was hoping no one would ask. The transmission was on a transmission jack (a cheap one from harbor freight because I don’t plan on doing this type of work regularly) so it was fully supported. I was trying install it because I had just replaced the clutch. I couldn’t get it to slide in even though I had the holes on the transmission and bell housing aligned, so I tried “walking” it in by getting longer bolts that would reach the Bellhousing and slowly rotating corner to corner on tightening the bolts. The bolts got hard to turn at times but I figured that was because I was rolling the transmission towards the Bellhousing. I was in the middle of cranking one and heard a crack. I stared inspecting things and found a vertical crack that split a bolt hole where the lower cover attaches to the Bellhousing. I was really surprised this happened because I wasn’t using an extender, just a normal ratchet. It’s definitely a learning lesson though. I’ve had lots of this on this truck.Mind if I ask if you know how the old one cracked. In 38 years of wrenching on cruisers I’ve never heard of one cracking before, especially on a 60 where the weight of the transmission is fully supported.
I have a later one, the stamped 3FE bellhousing. I'm pretty sure it would work. The clutch fork is slightly different. Ask orangefj45 for sure.

I saw someone did this about 10 years ago and you supplied them with a new housing. That made me feel a tiny bit better about things.the later bellhousing 3F is not compatable with his currrent crossmember
seen this done before
the trans should slide right in when aligned correctly
should be no need to use the bolts to pull the trans into place
@dsagona Might want to verify the production month of your 60 as 84 is right on the border of when the bellhousings changed.
FJ62 started 11/84 in most markets. In the US FJ60 continued until 8/87. 4/85 the 3F bellhousing started in the US. Easy to recognized by the 3F case in the later bellhousing. Also looking from the back side can see the top of the opening for the transmission is rotated slightly clockwise. The rotation is the reason the crossmember has to match the bellhousing.
