That's a cool color. It almost looks like the "millenium gray" on my rear bumper.
Cool. I picked it because there is a thread in the 100 series forum about it matching the bumpers on the dark colored Cruisers. It is a nice match to the stock 80 bumpers and side trim too.

How is the "Chassis Saver" paint in the axle and rear chassis holding? Would you use "Chassis Saver" again or would you try something else? Like POR 15 or the like.

I really don't like it very much. It holds up ok, but dirt adheres to it pretty badly and it just doesn't look great.
On the 60 series I am restoring, I am giving this chassis paint from Tamco a shot.
It sprays really well but I haven't had the truck on the road for durability testing yet. I do very much like the idea of a dedicated hardener vs POR and Chassis Saver using moisture from the air to harden.

I asked of they could reduce the gloss for me and they did and no extra cost. High gloss looks wrong on the chassis to me.

I am with you on hating gloss, only Satin or semi glossy for me too. Is that like an epoxy 2k primer?

It is a urethane 2k with rust converter in it. I would say it is similar in performance to PPG DP90, but the PPG is an epoxy 2k

I did the inside and underside of my 60 with it. The frame is powder coat and the bottom got coated again with raptor liner.

I'm guessing the Haltech isn't on the truck yet? Looking forward to seeing how a tuned '80 runs. Are you ditching the MAF?

No, not installed yet. I would really love to have time to run the Haltech non turbo to see how it performs against the factory ecu. Using the Haltech MAP and no factory MAF. Picking up a turbo ready rebuilt 1fz-fe in the next few weeks.

Aaaaaand, I recieved this email. Pretty excited!

That’s the route I’d take. Sort out ecu and wiring first, then do the turbo. Does Haltech have a basemap for the 1fz?

Not sure, but assuming there is a base map due to a lot of AU petrol 80 series running Haltech (although I only know of turbo setups)

This wasn't due to show til Wednesday but I got it today. It is a really well made piece!

Hopefully the wiring is a bit easier with the Boomslang Fabrication harness I bought. It plugs into the factory harness and parallels the factory ecu. It should save a boatload of splicing.

good job on the 6boost manifold. Back when i had a r32 gtr 6boost was the king for the best performing manifold. Had one on mine with a big borg warner.

Thanks. Unfortunately still no work in the turbo project. Lots of pretty parts in boxes lol. My diesel 60 project is one full year behind schedule and I am rebuilding my daughters 80 on to a new rust free truck. Back burner again.
