Sorry just saw this. I'll have to skip this weekend as I'll be out of town. Hope to catch a few of you next time!@ThreeSix. Are you in?
Anybody interested in a Mendocino National Forest run in the few weeks? Lots of snow up there now.
+1
I may be interested depending on the time and types of trails (I don't have any mods).
Don't say that... I've got the hairline starting to show.Interested! Just need to replace my radiator first. Decided to show a leak with some sub-zero temps.
Similar to the route I posted above as a Google link. I'm fairly stock, KO2, can air down/up. No winch. Have a 50W amateur radio w/APRS on board so comms sorted. Arriving from Dehli on the morning of the 14th, so assuming no quarantine can be good to go on the Saturday am.I was thinking a day run, would be good to meet some fellow 200 owners. Bring lunch as it would be an all day thing.
Two options for trails:
1 - Meet in Potter Valley head up around Lake Pillsbury and up the M1 on Hull Mountain. We'll see more pavement, and traffic on this route. Its where most people from the 101 corridor go to play offroad, I've seen traffic jams halfway up Hull.
2 - Meet in Upper Lake, head up Elk mountain road, then take the M10 though bear creek camp ground and up to Letts lake. Letts is a great place for lunch. This route has 1 creek crossing, probably about a foot deep if it hasn't rained in week before, but if the creek stops us we can still get to Lake Pillsbury on Elk Mountain road.
Dates, I'm flexible too, MLK weekend (Sat or Sun) would be fine with me.
The trails/roads are all forest roads, just mud and snow at this time of year. Nothing stock vehicles can't handle. but being able to air down and up would be a big help.
Comms, I run Ham radio
let us know what works for you guys.
Cheers
Im in a 100 series, but it was 1F overnight not accounting for the wind chill. Radiator is only 4 years old so slightly bummed.Don't say that... I've got the hairline starting to show.
Was it Sub-Zero or below freezing, as I look nervously at a 25F thermometer.

Yep we are on the same page.Similar to the route I posted above as a Google link. I'm fairly stock, KO2, can air down/up. No winch. Have a 50W amateur radio w/APRS on board so comms sorted. Any GMRS handheld would be fine for group trail run.Im in a 100 series, but it was 1F overnight not accounting for the wind chill. Radiator is only 4 years old so slightly bummed.
I think a day run of either option would be fun. I don't have comms yet. Any handheld recommendations for someone just starting out?
