I’m looking to replace my main battery cables and figured I’d clean up terminals at my battery. I’ve got some Auxiliary lights running to the single battery setup. Are there any terminal blocks that folks recommend for multiple lugs coming to battery?

Thanks - sounds like something I would have no problem doing on my K5 Blazer. On the 80... my wife doesn't like me doing Chevy-style hacks. I suppose I'll just do it and see if she notices it :hillbilly:

:) It's a good idea to keep your customers on the road until you can get a decent set of terminals, the cost of an OE terminal complete with cables can be costly to say the least.

I have a set of 16+ ton crimpers, these along with a pair of generic clamps do the job well, many of my customers simply won't pay for the 'right thing' so you do what is the cheapest that they are happy with, never seen the 'screw trick' fail. Years ago you could buy sleeves that went over the battery posts, they were about during the time that the phasing in of batteries with different sized posts were coming in, they (the sleeves and batteries) seem to have disappeared now though, they were no longer needed when battery terminal size was changed, the alternator being particularly sensitive to incorrect connections, dynamos with the old RB340 regulator box did give a damn, of course the change from positive to negative earth was happening at the same time.

I have harvested the brass battery terminals from German cars at the scrap yard. They are simply superb quality in my opinion. The fastener mechanism is durable and very tight on the battery post and will not deform the terminal clamp. Also BMW sedans have the battery in the trunk with about 15' of 0AWG and 15' of 000AWG silicone insulated welding cable running to the firewall under the carpet with crimpped terminal lugs affixed to each end. A zillion strands of solid copper in each length. The photo shows the yield of two BMW sedans and if your lucky like I was that day, the cashier had no idea how many feet of cable it was and charged me for 20'. A good haul from the 'mall' that day!

Good find, I use the cube fuses on my battery terminals, they were IIRC an idea from Mercedes? Either way they make a good last line of defense.

McMaster carr has been my go to for over 4 decades, we used there big catalogue at work before there was the Internet.
Great company

I did these this weekend in lieu of replacing all the cables and doing a proper fused link. My factory original ground terminal could no longer be tightened more to keep it on the post, so sometimes truck wouldn’t start. I cleaned up and replaced some of the connectors that were tired. These terminal connectors are from V-gate on Amazon. Theyre rock solid on the posts.

Is this a 27F battery? Wanting to get an X2Power battery as well.

I think so but I’m not sure. It’s 3yrs old now. Did the research back then. It’s possible a group 34, but I think 27. I think they’ve made some changes in those batteries since then. Holding up well but fairly susceptible to parasitic draw. As not a daily driver, easier for me to keep on a NOCO 2A trickle charger most of the time and does fine. No problem with those terminal blocks thus far, although I acknowledge it’s not the proper/best way to do it.

I am no longer using them. I have switched over to MILSPEC terminals. I am also weighing the options of swapping out my Optima 35A for a Optima Yellow Top D27F, I would love to be able to run dual marine batteries but the Optima marine batteries do not come in a "flipped/reverse" setup that the Land Cruiser uses.
FWIW I'm running dual Interstate marines (engine bay) that come in R-configuration. 31 size.
But then there's a guy nearby who resells them so presumably they aren't easy to come by on a discount.
Running well 4 years on now, tho keeping a check on fluid level has become an additional maintenance item. 🤔
Hey, it's easier than checking wheel spacer torque.

I tried looking around and cant seem to find the batteries you are referring to. Can you post a picture?

This would be the passenger side. But agree they don't appear to make that model with reversed (opposite) terminals anymore.

Plus my driver side doesn't have dual terminals either, so it could be a prior generation. I didn't need dual terminals on that side anyway so it wasn't a concern. And only needed duals on the pass side for a clean connection to the winch relay board.
Surprised Interstate has so few options or at least it looks that way. "My guy" seemed to have just about any config one would need. This was 4 years ago tho.
Interstate, another victim of C19 I suppose. :meh:

Ah okay. I work as a driver for Interstate and haven't seen a 31 with reversed posts. All I can remember off the top of my head are group 24,27 and there is a group 34 that are flipped/reverse post batteries. The drivers side is the one you really only need a reverse or flipped post. Passenger side is standard configuration.

I am thinking of switching over both my batteries from Group 34 to a Group 31 with marine style posts or automotive on the starting battery than marine on the second battery.
