Picked up another 40 last week. Unfortunately I'm too far into my 2 builds to keep this one so I'm hoping to make a little coin on it to fund my other 40s. This is the cleanest unrestored truck I have ever seen in person with zero rust! Garage kept its entire life and original owner up until 3 years ago. Mural isn't my thing but it was painted in 1975 same year as the truck! My plans are to take the monstrocity off the roof and put a factory front bumper and new bumperettes on it.

Nice find. Funky roof rack. I'd be tempted to drive it & sorta forget one of the projects for awhile....

Kliers got a point there

i was wondering why i was getting pms about this. thanks for bringing it back up rob. Here are a couple of updated pics of the old girl. after new bumpers and bumperettes from toyota. I also removed the roof rack and was left with two holes where the PO mounted the rear portion to the fiberglass. Two bolt holes arent as bad as the moon roof that was installed at some point in its life. :(

did it come with the rock parking break?:p

I am totally in love with that 40. It's awesome! Keeping it?

Nope im going to try to sell it I have two 40s allready and can't afford a third and simply don't have the room because I don't have the heart to park it under the weather. Wish I would have started with something like this to begin with I just spent 7k on a pilgrim 3/4 tub and 500 on replacement rear frame section. (Mine were gone to rust) That's not including the countless hours of installing just those two parts alone. Would have been a lot of money ahead starting with this.

It's funny you mention this the parking break works great on this one but my drive way is extremely steep I actually flipped my 78 bj40 on it when my chock sank into the ground.
:( sad day.

Saw that one sitting at the classic car dealer in Arab... Didn't have the extra money to inquire about price at the time....Glad to hear someone on Mud picked it up.

Btw, let me know when you are ready to meet in Cullman with the springs and shocks.

Congrats,
Russ

Yep that's the one! Funny history on this truck I actually saw it on ebay roughly four years ago I think at that point the original owner sold it. 3+ years it reappeared in Arab on the car lot and it actually belonged to the car lot owners brother. He was selling it so he could get his kids a swimming pool. Then it sold before I could make an offer. What do you know a few weeks later a friend called me looking for some parts for this thing for one of his friends. So I told him to pass on my number. I recieved a call from the last owner chatted a bit and told him if he ever decided to sell it to give me a call. Fast forward a few weeks and the guy calls me up and says he found a motorcycle he HAS to have. The guy I got it from was a newly retired police officer who had a 1980 model 40 back in the early 90s that he cleaned with a toothbrush. He had sold the truck to a local dealer where it sat in the showroom. Needless to say he regretted ever selling it. We made the deal and I drove her home.
