Beauty.:)

a question ive always had about stock AC units, where they sit, does it mean removing the air supply duct to the heater box in the center of the dash, thereby making it redundant?

The air duct remains the same function and position but to make space for the evaporator unit it’s shape is slightly modified. I’m not sure for the US but in Aus market the Toyota dealerships installed the a/c upon request/sale. All 40’ imported from Japan came without a/c and it was an option only installed afterwards if the customer wanted it.
These early ND a/c are very complex units and the correct kit is involving so many parts. Today the historically correct ground up installation into a non a/c 40’ series vehicle is nearly impossible do to availability of these parts. With a/c on board every major part is a variant.. (engine mounts, battery mount, pulleys, water pump spacers on diesels, engine brackets, radiator brackets, wiring harnesses, idle up vacuum circuit, etc.. the list is long, and yes the air duct inlet pipe is different too :grinpimp:

I’ve been thinking and thinking about the headlights.. finally decided to retrofit the original Kotto. I just couldn’t choose between the available new 7” rounds.. non of them were up to my standards and I wouldn’t wanted to ruin the genuinity of this build with led lights.
So, after some intense effort the lenses managed to separate from the housing.. after that its just meticulous cleaning, and, ..well, will show you the final result soon..

Steel wool? Or some other technique(s)?

Would you PLEASE stop already!

My Correcto-Meter is over-dosed so badly on "right" that the needle is bent.................:flipoff2:

The battery still needs to be resolved.....and you already surrendered with the extractor however....:deadhorse:

Battery is done long time ago.. but the extractor is a nono. The old exhaust manifold is a nightmare neverthwless reduces the power a lot
Btw, which onereally blew the fuse? The 18Karat exhaust or the retrofit headlights?

The headlights pushed it out-of-range and bent the needle. The brackets fried the circuit board.:wrench:
