Bad experience with Mosley Motors, dragged out over 6 months. caveat emptor.

So a bunch of people recommended Mosley to you? When did you realize that their recommendations were in the blind and they hadn’t shopped there?
When i asked them

Wait. Did you use Mosley because of blind recommendations…or because he’s 2 miles from your house?
blind recommendations were after the order
Again? This thread was started, by you, to warn others not to recommend shops blindly. However, you had a bad experience with a shop you chose due to proximity and a past friendship and a noble wish to support a relatively new shop. Or was it also recommended to you by others you later learned had never shopped there?
What?
Did this fella find Mosley on his own, or did you recommend Mosley for the 2F work? If you recommended, was it done blindly, having never shopped there?
I had shopped there by this point, had not had a bad experience at this point
But it was a $1000+ charge back, correct? The bank made a mistake? Cam had $1000+ pulled until you resolved the issue with the bank?
I cant control what capone does. I submitted a charge back for $66. Chargeback confirmation has dates and confirmed amounts. Issue was rectified within the hour of me finding out about their mistake. Ive never made a chargeback before. Confirmation backup documentation has been sent privately, due to it be a banking transaction to cam.
No. Your post should have said “Don’t use shops just because they are near your house and are owned by former friends and never ever use shops just because they are fairly new and you want to help them out.”
Still stand by the original post
Your logic for using Mosley had nothing to do with people recommending him who had never used him. This entire thread is a perfect example of passive aggressive behavior. The subject of your first post has nothing to do with the following 6 pages.
The subject of the first post wasnt 100% aimed at mosley. It was just in general, and not even for the LC community specifically. This isnt the only car forum I frequent. It didnt turn into what this thread is now until someone that was not me named his shop. There has not been anything posted publicly online about mosley until a few pages of this thread. I never wanted to. Not once was his shop even implied by me. Have not personally insulted anyone in all of this, and i have kept it to just what happened to me. All of this is more of something that should have been handled privately, but was aired out on this thread for no apparent reason. I even resisted posting what happened until a few pages in. Still to this day, a simple apology for the mistake, and rude phone call...and this entire issue, and this thread would be deleted by me. Doesnt even have to be here on this thread. Perfectly fine with privately.

Consider this my final reply.
There will be no further replies from me here.

I wont be replying to either you on this forum in the future

goodbye!

Say whatever y’all want to though. I’ll just keep fielding my messages privately. That will be all.

I’m sure there will be more posted after this, filled with plenty of gotchas and zany tales, but again I will field anything privately via here or fb if I haven’t already spoken to you. Y’all have a good one. caveat emptor. Signing out.
This threads existence does everything it needs to do without me even saying a word. Which I’ve admittedly balked on. I’ll do better to no longer reply.

I will stop replying to this thread and i will no longer be engaging in any of the mud slinging, however i will not delete it.
If I can't take you at your word on 1 simple statement, how can I put faith in the other statements??

Id rather not, and i dont need your taking of my word. Again, ive posted the facts of the situation in post 48. Everything else is just superfluous.

This has been an interesting read. I do not know either of you but I thought I'd share a few observations as an offering of "lessons learned".

I saw someone mention the length of replies when some individuals were sharing their story. No one made anyone else read this saga and I'd assume it's only fair to allow both sides to present their side of the story, however long it takes.

There was a comment about receiving in excess of 250 texts. We all have different ways to communicate and if someone is texting too much, why don't we ask them to ease up? Maybe I missed that in all the screen captures. In general, if one isn't a big "texter", consider the fact that no one is forcing anyone to read or respond to text messages received to one's phone. It's ok to ignore the buzzing in your pocket or just block that person or whatever you need to do.

I don't know what to make of the perceived "smear campaign" either. It's not a good look to dog on someone publicly, but when a mistake or error or whatever happens with someone you trust, it's frustrating. Too often, trusted and beloved vendors in this community are put up on a pedestal from which they can never do any wrong..and that's not fair to anyone, vendor or customer. We all make mistakes and just because someone has had years and years without issues doesn't mean that a bad day didn't happen. Just because something is contrary to your experience doesn't mean that it isn't true or didn't happen.

My final observation is that there might not be anything more disgusting than an entitled consumer demanding their goods (rightly or not).

Fair enough, agree on all points. Even the last one. Thanks for your $0.02!

“s***, I’m still only on page 7”

This thread bums me out. For me, being able to own a vintage Land Cruiser (we own a 40, 45, and 60) is a privilege. The joy in that privilege comes from being able to work on these wonderful machines with my son to keep them running. The only way we keep them running is through the relationships that we have developed through this site and previous hard work of others—many of them vendors on this site. After being on this forum for a couple of years now, I am astonished by the amount of time that some members and vendors spend in developing products and helping others. I am sure for every product that is developed/brought to market that makes my life with my cruises more enjoyable there are several that fail—and for that very reason vendors on this site has my utmost respect. Honestly, the only way I ever get EFI on my cruisers is because of vendors like @FJ60Cam having a kit and members like @wngrog sharing his knowledge on installing them. Their hard work and willingness to make these available/share knowledge benefits me and I’m thankful for it. I guess it is in that sentiment that I find it easy, if the waters get a little rough, to be calm and patient when dealing with fellow members and vendors.

What’s that saying…”Do you wanna be right or be happy?” There is so much right-fighting in everyday life that when it comes to cruisers, I’m gonna be happy, dammit!

I think i know how this statement is going to turn out....

I dunno man. The Holley sniper kit that im putting on my dads first Gen camaro has an instruction manual. With pictures. Thanks to the hard work and wisdom that Holley put into it. Honestly, the only way I ever get EFI on the 68 camaro is because of an email attachment and Adobe Pro. 😂.

Oh, silly me. I didn’t realize we were talking about Cameros. And, of course, who has ever needed help when the’ve had an instruction manuel with pictures, an “e-mail attachment” and Adobe Pro . Congrats “man”, seems like you’ve got it all figured out:rofl:.
