Nice Rig! Did you end up replacing the lower arm bushing that is left in the frame? If so, how many beers of a job was it?

I inspected it and it looked fine to me, decided to leave it. I’ve heard it can be a bear to replace.

I’ve found low mile late ls430s for like $6-7k. The LS has been a great, reliable car since it’s inception.

I like that this 460 has full curtain airbags and child seat anchors, since we are quickly entering that phase of our adulthood haha.

Nice find! For the past 6 months I've been researching mid 90s Lexus SC400s as a possible daily driver. They seem crazy reliable as long as you can find one that wasn't turned into a street racer (basically a Lexus version of the Supra MarkIV). Found one locally that I'm going to check out for just $4500 with 87k on the clock (owned by a local physician).

Wal-Mart steak is going to seem much classier in the LS. Nice looking find.

Wal Mart Steak and Frank Sinatra in my flagship sedan. Its the little things in life really.

Sorry for the loss of T Boone today Amigo. I know he did a lot for y'all

He changed the landscape of Oklahoma State, and it was more than just money that did it. He certainly embodied the most famous words of our alma matter “Loyal and True”

Been a while since the last progress pic. I can assure you the next progress pic will be maybe the biggest change yet....

Just read the entire build thread - simply awesome transformation!
How do you like you rear Dobinson after a year or so of wheeling it? Do you still have the factory rear hatch? Thank you!

I love the bumper I have absolutely hammered it and it has withstood the abuse. The dual jerry carrier was a worthwhile upgrade. The value is unmatched in this bumper. I took my hitch off i just don't ever need it.

I have been bad about updating this. The cruiser hasn’t been getting driven a lot a) because I don’t drive a lot b) because of the Lexus (which is a great car but a money pit) and c) I have a CV vibrating so bad it’s almost undrivable.i might invest in a diff drop just because. I don’t think they do as much as people think but running the angles I’m at I’ll take anything I can get.

I got a TJM T17 to replace my beat up ARB and I absolutely love it. I have a winch that I need to install at some point but I have been to lazy to do so. We are in full on winter mode. I need to repack my hubs, replace a CV, rebuild my stock LCAs (still riding my ghetto fixed moogs), get an alignment, fix a few broken odds and ends, etc. I never do quite seem to catch up, pay to play is the truth in this hobby.

My next big project is impending, but life keeps getting in the way. My office was severely damaged in the Dallas tornado, we moved into a new home, my wife just blew out her knee. Always something, “adulting” is very real.

My brake actuator died that was $3k, had a bent wheel so had to find some OEM take offs for a few hundred, Sewell botched my valve spring recall which caused my fuel pump gaskets (on the VC) to pour oil out. We drove to Tulsa on the way to KC and it was pouring smoke out hood and burning smell. I had this fixed at Lexus of Tulsa, they were great and got it done so fast, but only partially reimbursed by Lexus. I still can’t get all the oil off the manifolds and the car still produces a burning smell. I can work thru that over time but it’s just been like rapid succession of stuff I’ve had to fix

here’s the rub. This is THE best highway car I’ve ever owned. I am not kidding this thing could do 120 on the highway all day and be so comfortable and quiet. Despite the oil leak/smoking, this thing did amazing on that road trip. In fact I did over 7 hours straight from KC to Dallas, I literally did not stop and it did it at about 90mph the whole way and Idid it on like 3/4 of a tank. I think I got like 28-29 mpg. That’s just crazy out of a V8.

Bummer! Good luck.

My 18 year old daughter drives the LS430, bought it outta Tulsa a year or so ago. I love that car and she does too.

That front bumper looks great

Thanks Justin! I really like the look. I miss my bullbar but this bumper is just clean, simple, and good looking. Plus it shows off my headlights and grille really nicely.

Hope you and the kids are well.

So my front seats are kinda wonky. The drivers seat is some vinyl redo from a local shop (previous owner) and the passenger seat leather is petrified somehow. The seat is rock hard and awful.

Stumbled across some Honda S2000 seats for next to nothing on CL and after doing some measurements, they appeared to line up semi-nicely. I decided to try and swap them in. Was still a rather intensive project requiring cutting, drilling, and welding. If there is any interest in a the details I can type out my design and process. Since the seats have an integrated seatbelt, I was worried that the s2000 seatbelt receiver wouldn’t work but luckily they click right in!

here’s some pics.
