Spent a nice weekend burning off the slash and some stumps from area the shop will go. Also, before the snow came in I managed to start cutting a terrace along the hillside above the site for erosion control and part of a walking trail I'd like to build around the property.

Still waiting for warm weather and the final melt to get started......

Meet with our designer last week and got the first set of our plans for the shop! Starting to get really excited....

Looks like it will be great! Incredible how useful your Kubota has been. Nice!!

Thank goodness for a friend with a bobcat! It took both machines to get this Douglas fur stump outta the ground!

Hey Paul
Great looking shop and your land is spectacular as well.
I built a 36 x 48 pole barn last year in VA. Building restrictions are minimal, much easier than your dramas.
The best thing I did was to add skylights.
Mine are simple acrylic sheets that are the same size as the roof panels. They let in a ton of light. I rarely need any additional lighting unless I'm under a car.
They might not be practical for your area, since they have no thermal resistance.
But its a thought for ya.

Love it! It's been a longtime since I said hi! Hope everything is going well up in SLC! Take care.

I'm polishing fenders and telling lies about Land Cruisers. :)

Let's see a current shot of the project. Inquiring minds want to see....:smokin:

We really want to make it back up to see the museum since moved from the speedway!

The shop is still moving forward but due to several new ATC projects and the company growth I haven't been able to spend as much time on the site as I'd like.

Our stump and log pile keeps getting larger! Going to have a hell of a bonfire this winter!

A little prebuild advertising! Just goes to show how tough our waxed canvas is, it's been hanging on that tree for over a year.

Still working the site. Have to drop five more trees before the inspector comes out. (Excluding the bear...)

View from what will be the back of the shop. The road is Boulder Canyon and rocks in the distance are known as the "Sport Park" which is highly regarded in the rock climbing world. Due to the trees you can just see Boulder Creek, but the roar during the melt is awesome!

I've found where the root of the Rocky Mountains start! Thank goodness its decomposing granite, otherwise I'd have to get some dynamite to clear the rock as I dig the holes for the poles.

A very productive week so far. Got the final stump out and worked on getting the lot level, all while finishing the interior of our Tiger camper and installing Airlift Bags. I need a beer!
