I'm installing an ARB compressor along with the lockers in my 75 fj40, what I was wondering is the compressor good for anything else other than the lockeers. Is it big enough to air tires or run tools. Any info would be great thanks

You can air up tires, I think many people have said it does that- just slow.
Better to have a stronger compressor for that (like a 100% duty cycle, ARB's is less than 30% duty cycle I think).
Not enough power or air reserve to run tools though. You need a seperate air tank (which people put in the front bumper or under the truck) or CO2 tank ideally for tools & airing up tires.
A little plug for me- I'm selling a new Viair compressor in the "for sale section"![]()

I do have the Powertank valve, so I think that makes a difference.

cruiseroutfit said:Ditto, I have filled up dozens of tires with the ARB compressor. It is designed to be used as a tire inflator... they even sell it in a easy to carry case with 12V cable connectors. It is not a 100% duty cycle, so you can't run it for ever. I have CO2, but it won't be replacing my ARB comp anytime soon...
PS, I have burned up an ARB compressor... after filling it with sand & water (deep water)
Landpimp said:the older ARB comps had a pretty short duty cycle, think it was 5 or so years ago they upgraded it.
