Portal Axles? If so which ones?
Portal Axles? If so which ones?
Does anyone have a pix of the back side (mounting points) for this historic FJ40 bumper? Does it require any frame mods, or do you just remove the triangular plates and bumper, and bolt it up?
Does it accommodate the factory PTO winch, and/or engine crank hole (which is covered by the winch, if you have one)?
Thanks - Steve
I'll dig up some pictures but they do not require frame mods and they are not set up for a PTO, electric only. Users have modified them to fit a PTO winch but that would solely be on your end![]()
Do these mount with end brackets still in place? I have a old bull bar that I bought cheap. It's currently just seating on my 73 FST at another location. Thought it required the end brackets removed. It was question if it's ARB or not. Build like a ARB and has the tabs for the angle brace back to the frame which I thought required drilling a couple to bolt those brackets?'
I do have a question on the bracket above the main bar. Is that designed for a fair head to bolt on? I one of those PTO winch guys and have been lucky enough to locate a few split case two direction PTO units. One being my 79 which I would like the new bull bar for. If the bracket would support a fair head spacing a PTO winch up and deleting the stock fairhead setup only other mod might be to clearance the opening in the front frame member for the higher angle in front.
Thanks Kurt - great info. Final question - how much does the new ARB bumper weigh (presumably same as the old)? There's zero info on the ARB website, but I did see the promo video.
