Alright...how much did you get it for?
Go to Harbor Freight and buy a cheap ass bender + 2 joints of 1 1/2" black pipe from McCoys + 1 Saturday afternoon + welder +2 cases of beer = the creation of your choice..... That's what I did...may not be perfect, but it has knock down power.. that's all I care about......

Take a look at this...looks something like the shape you were after? Too bad it won't fit a 40.

Here is a pic of mine. Stout as, and an 8274 mount to boot. Not sure if I will be keeping it or going with a newer ARB.
If you look closely, the bottom edge on the driver is turned up. That is 3/8" steel. Probably saved the truck from something serious in a previous life.
Sea Knight said:Who built that bumper? It's very close to what I've been trying to describe. There was an outfit in Albuquerque that used to build a bumper that looked very similar. I think the name was Stout, but they've been out of business for years.
Dave, I know the Safari Guard bumpers weren't rugged, but I never wheeled the 62 and they were a step up from stock. In the end it made no difference since I couldn't buy one.
You really don't want to know. I'm sure many would think I need to have my head examined as it didnt come cheap. I've wanted one since I had my last 40 back in the '02 timeframe, and told myself I'd have one on my next 40. I was disappointed to find out they were discontinued around the time I sold my last one. It did come cheaper than the knock off version quoted at $1K from the builder here in Texas.
Does anyone know what they sold for new? I'm guessing $650-$700?
Were the 60 versions as expensive as the Rover units. I thought the Rover bumpers were going for 1100.00. That might have been for the LR series.
Not sure on the maker. It may very well be a one off production. But the 40 spent most of it's life before me in NM, close to ABQ

The 60/62 version was $650. I think that was in 2004? I guess they thought Rover owners were richer? Or dumber?
