Anyone tried Equus gauges? Or recommendations?

Hey All.
I was in Kragen and saw a brand of gauges that I hadn't seen before. Equus. Hmmm. They look good and the prices are reasonable. I know the important parts of the gauge you can't see ;) so I need to ask. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I'm going to eventually replace the oil pressure and coolant temp gauges, and add A/F mixture, volts, and maybe oil or cylinder head temp. I'd like something that looks and works well but doesn't attact theives like a set of autometers might, and wouldn't kill me if they got ripped off :frown:

So do these work well or does anyone have recommendations?
TIA!
B.

Gauges

I went with Haneline , 3 into 1 in my 55 and mounted them in the factory dashpad. They look like stock gauges.

yhose look good. do you have any pictures of them with the lights on

Scratch that... The Hanline 3 in 1 are 5", won't fit in a 40.

I have not shot the gauges at night. As for fitting in a 40, there are lots of options and they are easy to find.

I just got done wiring in my new gauges yesterday. They are the dolphin gauges with black face and red needles. Pretty simple to wire. And mounted them in the joetlc panel above. Looks awesome.

Equus are cheap guages. They will work but then again so will an 80 year old prostitute. It just comes down to what kind of experience you want.

Thanks a lot for the info guys. Great ideas for gauge configuration too. Very nice.
I was hoping that the Equus gauges were better quality than the price suggested  but ya' usually get what you pay for.
I'll probably end up going with Autometer.
Thx, B.

I went with VDO. They are high quality and still remind me of the factory setup.
