I have been looking for months for a decent BJ44 or LV, and saw this one on EBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Land-Cruiser-FJ45LV-Diesel-1964-FJ45LV-Toyota-Landcruiser-Diesel-/141201525943?forcerrptr=true&hash=item20e0444cb7&item=141201525943&pt=US_Cars_Trucks

Anyone know this rig? Who built it? Condition? Value?

I am looking in the $15k range which is tough, I'm sure it will be bid up on EBay, usually right out of my price range, and I can't fly across the country to check it out to bid up to my max. Hoping someone here knows the truck well.

Thanks,

Matt

I don't know 45s, but if I wasn't building the 55, I'd be bidding on it.

Good luck with it.

Looks like one that was sold out of PAC NW recently. Believe it was advertised by a member here for 20k OBO. Seemed like a clean rig not done but being done right IIRC

I think I remember this for sale several months back on mud. Can you elaborate on what you think may be wrong with it?

It's being sold by a guy who's owned several cruisers but doesn't know much about this one. Seems sketchy.

It has an H engine with of unknown mileage and condition. Also unknown turbo.

You can see what appears to be bondo falling off the back of it. According to the seller, the floors were repaired, but no details of how.

Edit: there appears to be some history of the truck on mud. That may answer some of the unknowns, but the price still seems high to me.

I hope nobody pays $15k for that thing!

Have you been watching the recent sale of LVs on ebay? This one will hit $15k easy.

I watched this non runner sell for $11.5k this past summer

And my '63 warts and all, went for $20k

The market is def. up on 40s in general and the LVs are really fetching a premium. It wouldn't shock me if this one hit $20k

Just what I was looking for! Thanks guys. I bet this will go closer to the 15-18k range. Not sure if I want to get into someone's experiment, without a lengthy test drive and having it gone over by a trusted mechanic. I can imagine bringing it in to a Cruiser mechanic and having him scratch his head. That is the problem with buying on the Internet.
The search continues....

Clemson,

Agreed, the market is crazy for these, which is why I bet it will end up out of my range. It may end up $20k or more as the warts are all covered up and the interior is somewhat redone.

I think resto guys are snatching them up, and flipping them for a pretty profit. Who wants to pay $50k for an ugly Suburban when you can pay $30k for a redone Cruiser?

I'll keep an eye on it.

It's already at $18k with five days left.

An I believe when it sold a couple months ago it was close to if not more than $20k.

This might even hit $25k

I'm out. Already over $20k.

$24k and counting
